These two sweet babies are in need of a home!
This is Waffles 🧇 (with the nose heart) and Bacon 🥓(with the dark face).

These Boxer mix (???) puppies have had a rough start to life! They’ve bounced between rescue, foster and adoption returns and need a permanent place to call home.

Their wonderful foster reached out to see if we could give them some exposure, so here is what we know!

Bacon 🥓 is a shy boy and has a hard time with small kids. He can take a little while to warm up, but once he does, he is a snuggler. He would need a patient home, preferably without small kids.

Waffles 🧇 is a little more outgoing, food motivated (big for training) and full of energy! He loves to play and does well with children, he would do well in an active home with lots of attention.

They are with their foster through FURRY FRIENDS OF THE PANHANDLE RESCUE.

To adopt, you must:
• Be at least 25 years old
• Have a fenced-in yard
• Have all current pets up to date on their vaccinations

The adoption fee is $175 and includes their puppy vaccinations and spay/neuter.

You could literally just go to your local animal shelter and hug dogs like Cletus Luv.

That’s it. That’s the activity.

A few minutes of your time might not feel like much to you, but to a dog spending their days in a kennel, getting to sit with someone, be held, and soak up a little extra love can make their whole day better.

And Cletus is VERY happy to volunteer for hugs. ❤️

Since the others are not in the poll we have to assume they are true. Petey (formerly Desmonde) did in fact teach Messi ball control (although he wont admit it), and you can tell by Penelope‘s tracking that she is an expert finder of people and things.

Sometimes the best walk for a shelter dog isn’t really a walk at all.

We tend to think a high-energy dog needs to run harder or be completely worn out. But for a dog already living in an overstimulating shelter, more exercise isn’t always what they need.

A slow sniff gives them mental enrichment and something they rarely get inside a kennel: choice.

They choose where to go, what to investigate, and when to move on.

Research has even associated sniffing on walks with lower heart rates in dogs.

So if we spend 15 minutes investigating one patch of grass?

That isn’t wasted time.

That IS the enrichment.

Sometimes they don’t need us to tire them out. They need us to let them be a dog.
