The Calls I Receive! For fb we will call him Richard. He starts off by staying do you know blank I will not use trainers name or give it out. I said yes have for years good trainer, he replied No He Ain't! I ask why ? Richard says I had a dog there and she don't know s**t tried runing her yesterday didn't do this didn't do that ! I asked how long was she trained for ? 4 months. If you have ever trained a dog you know that's not a long time. When did u pick her up ? Richard March 1st . How did she do when you you picked her up? He says ok! I asked how has she ran this sumer? There was a bit of silence and I knew the answer before he said it. Richard Well I haven't run her. 🤔 the call became very one sided at this point.! I said so you pick up a young "started dog" and you leave it set for months and expect it to be the same? Richard yes!REALLY! I said DID YOU USE SAME COMMANDS AS TRAINER? USE SAME WHISTLE? DIDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING??? I have found over 45yrs of training dogs and people if people talk long enough the truth comes out. He wasn't using correct words, wrong whistle, added something that day that he thinks the dog should have just picked up on! He was wrong on everything he did from the day he picked up dog ! He got a started young dog not a finished dog! As a owner you have the responsibility to go on with dog , leave it with trainer , do exactly what your trainer says to do or Not to do. At this point I give my opinion on how wrong he was and call was over! If you see your dog preform a retrieve, blind retrieve, set and take cast well , deliver to hand with trainer, the dog doesn't do same for you 99.999999% of the time it's not the dog or his trainer it's something "you" are not doing the same you've change or you didn't work with dog, or something the trainer told you not@ to do because dog is not ready for it. Now I will say again listen to your trainer!!!! Don't take a started pup trained for ducks on a pheasant then bitch because he has no clue what's happening or overwhelme him with 10 guns on first hunt or take him on a goose hunt knowing he never seen a fn goose! Now I not talking about a finished 3 to 4 yr old dog , just started dog!
And I know unless you have trained lot's of dogs you have no idea the time it takes to train one and they are all different. Bottom line listen to your trainer, own your mistakes as a owner. In this case I found out he was told do not change anything on this dog and she needs worked at least 2 to 3 days a week! He didn't listen!🇺🇸😁
