Well, my 25 eggs in the incubator turned into 1 rotten egg that started oozing, and 7 or 8 that weren't fertile, 7 that haven't hatched with a few left to see if they make it. 1 has splay and it acts like im killing it when I band the legs together and lays on its belly and yells at me.

Mottled birds confuse me so.

This chick is from my own birds and I have a few paints, so I thought it was a paint.

I took pictures today and I'm pretty sure its a mottled bird now. I didn't mark the eggs when this bird hatched it was just a fun small hatch to test the new incubator.

Why do my girls wait until the hottest week of the year so far to go broody on air, with 3 hens in each box?
Also, what does everyone use to help keep their coops smelling fresh and clean longer. I clean every 2 weeks, weather permitting. I have around 25 silkies in my coop.
Picture because she's so ugly, she's cute. 🤞it's a girl, no wattles yet.
