Drake is a beautiful German Shepherd mix, inside and out. He is remarkably calm and relaxed in his kennel, but the moment someone stops in front of him, he quietly moves closer, pressing himself toward the bars trying to elicit a few more seconds of touch. After two months in a kennel, he still wants what he has probably always wanted: human connection.

Someone abandoned Drake in an isolated area. Animal control picked him up, and he has spent the last two months living in an overcrowded, high-kill shelter. Now the shelter needs space, and Drake has run out of time.

He has done nothing wrong. There is no terrible behavior that brought him to this moment. He has simply had the profound misfortune of being abandoned, overlooked, and left in a shelter where time eventually runs out.

If you love German Shepherds, know someone who does, or have simply fallen for the gentle boy you see in this video, please come meet Drake tomorrow. If you cannot get there yourself, contact a rescue that may be able to tag him and help facilitate getting him out.

Chewie, like 99.9% of the other dogs, didn’t lose his home because he did anything wrong. His owner is in the military and his family decided not to keep him.

After the family dropped him off and turned their back on him, he stood at the door whining, staring at the door - waiting for them to come back. I hope these people read this and know what pain they caused. Dogs are family for life. So let’s find him a new, better family!

Chewie lived with young children, including kids under age 4. He did great with them. He’s housebroken, rides well in the car, loves to play with toys and knows his commands such as sit, come, shake and wait.

His favorite thing is affection. He LOVES belly rubs, and hasn’t had much of them in some time now. He will climb right into his persons lap to be as close as possible. He can be a little unsure with new people but he warms up fast.

But being in the shelter has brought out his anxiety. He whines, paces and stares at the door, waiting, hoping. After 7 years of having a family, imagine how confusing it must be to suddenly find yourself in a shelter, alone.

🚨 DEADLINE TOMORROW 9/23 5pm sharp — RIVERSIDE, CA

Falcon is not doing well in the shelter. He’s emotionally shutting down.

But get him out of his kennel and into a play yard, and all he wants to do is melt into your lap. He smiles ear to ear, soaking up every touch. This dog is yearning for affection.

And tomorrow, 9/23, his time is up.

Falcon is believed to be only 2 years old. Give this boy a chance and he will give you his whole heart.

Please don’t assume someone else is coming for him. Riverside does not mess around with deadlines.

If you can find it in your heart to open your home to Falcon, don’t hesitate—because the shelter won’t either.

Black pitties are notoriously harder to get adopted. But once you’ve experienced their love, I promise you, you’ll never be the same.

Please choose Falcon before it’s too late.
