One day can change your life

Day 0 of the Lodge at Keyah Grande Guest House, and our hearts are already SO full. It’s unreal what every woman brings to these events. And in turn, we try to bring our all to make this an incredible trip - and that means our day doesn’t end when guests go to bed; we keep talking and planning the next day til late in the evening!

We (the guides) just finished our daily post mortem chat, where we take turns talking about each guest and how to best curate their experience for the next day, we make a compliments list, talk about the best parts of the day, and what could be improved for the next day. ‘Unfortunately’ our guests this trip are so wonderful, the compliments section of our conversation lasted forever.

Rise Above Violence is a local organization that helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Runway auction helps Rise service Archuleta county and the wider community, and we are honored to help their mission this year. The response to our “Backcountry” camp trip has been amazing, what an incredible gift to be connected with women across the country, and across the world, who want an opportunity like this to safely learn about how to camp with a Horse from the comfort of our glamp camp on a private ranch at the base of the San Juan Mountains.
