Thinking about running an auction for these two boys. I’ve been trying to find them a perfect home, but I also am not a stranger to being overwhelmed by roosters and feel bad dumping them on someone who is not necessarily needing more.

Little background. Both boys have been in a breeding pen together and MUST GO TOGETHER. They are both loving boys and tend to be very respectful of their girls. The black split to mottled is young - about a year old. The mottled boy is on the older side - I believe 2-3 but he does/ has been still breeding. These two work very well together, but the mottled boy CANNOT go with other boys. I’ve tried him with other boys previously and every time he starts to decline in health. He basically raised this black split boy and the split is very docile which is why they have been perfect together. The split boy does have horns, but he has really nice type in my opinion. This is a very very hard let go as I have so much love for these two boys, but right now I just can’t have multiple pens/areas with birds to care for.

Also- I hate auctions, and I am NOT a fan of auctioning off another breeders work. However, I did run this by their original breeder who is ok with this. I do not know what to price these boys at, so figured this would be the best way to find them a home together. I’m thinking about posting it this morning. I am currently recovering from a mild surgery, so pictures are limited to the below and also a video. If that is not ok please do not bid.

I know a lot of breeders prefer to use transport, but most of the ones I’ve used are no long transporting so I thought I’d give a shoutout to a transporter I got to meet today!

Grand Voyage Poultry - super nice, great communication and really cared about the animals and wants the best for them! Highly recommend them if you prefer transport over shipping!

Hi Again!

After my last flock reduction I’ve taken some time to think about the future and what I want. Over the years I’ve had a lot of life changes and since having kids I’ve been less motivated to continue to breed silkies. It’s become more of a chore and less of an enjoyment but I’ve continued to fight that feeling and thought stepping away from social media would help.

After talking to friends and also my husband I have decided to completely part ways with my breeding flock. My hope and dream is that the boys go to their original breeder, but any girls that she does not want will be up for grabs. I currently have a very very small flock, but below is what I will be listing (most likely tomorrow morning, or maybe this evening we shall see):

* I have 5-6 really really nice black split to mottled
* non bearded mottled hen
*2-3 mottled hens

I will be keeping my old ladies, but the ages for *most* are unknown as some of them were bought. If they are my breeding I will be able to give an estimated age, but otherwise just assume they are between 1-2 years old. I’m getting a ton of eggs so my assumption is everyone is laying.

Lastly- PLEASE do not blow up my messenger. I will post all as FCFS. I will NOT be renewing my NPIP so they must be shipped this month… no exceptions.

It’s wild I even have to say this, but absolutely do not message me if you have no intention of actually buying. I made it clear I’m getting out of social media because I have no desire of being glued to my phone, so when I have to get shipping quotes and answer all of the questions just for you to stop answering it just reinforces why i am deleting this page.

I’d estimate shipping to be between 50-100 so if that is not in your budget please don’t reach out. Also if you’re no longer interested … just say it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have ultimately decided to downsize my breeding program, and delete this page after finding homes for any birds that need homes. I love the birds but truthfully hate the social media aspect of this hobby. I have no desire to be on my phone constantly, or have my feed be consumed by chicken drama. I will still be breeding and offering up for local individuals only as I was doing before. I’ll maintain my NPIP, and will hopefully be showing this year, but just have no desire to maintain social media 🤷🏼‍♀️
