🐾❤️ MEET MAMA MELODY ❤️🐾

Mama Melody found herself at OKC with her name on the euthanasia list. Almost all of her babies had already been adopted, and somehow the mama who got them that far was the one left behind.

That just didn’t seem fair.

So Meraki said yes to Melody — and yes to her last pup who hadn’t been adopted, because around here it’s no man left behind. ❤️

Melody is one of our quieter souls. She’s incredibly well-mannered, an absolute angel in her run, keeps it clean, and doesn’t destroy her beds or blankets. If Melody gets to choose how to spend her day, she’s picking the indoor life: lounging around, relaxing and minding her business. 😂 But give her a beautiful day with the right temperature and some sunshine, and you’ll find her outside soaking it up.

Don’t let that chill personality fool you, though. When Melody decides it’s time to PLAY, mama has some wheels. 😂 She is FAST and has a seriously impressive long jump when she gets going.

And then there’s her toy collection. 😂❤️
Melody doesn’t really play with toys like you’d expect. Instead, when she comes inside, she searches the Haven floor. The second she spots an abandoned toy, she grabs her treasure and IT’S OFF TO THE RACES — full sprint back to her run to add her latest find to the collection. Apparently possession is 9/10 of the law at Meraki too. 🤣

She’s still polishing up a couple of things, including jumping up and her signature entrance: coming through the back door HOT and occasionally forgetting that brakes exist. 😂

Mama Melody already did her job raising her babies. Now it’s her turn to be somebody’s baby. ❤️🐾

Melody is looking for her forever home.

❤️🐾 MAMA NOVA — HOW IS THIS GIRL STILL WAITING?!

Nova came to Meraki on what was supposed to be the last day of her life on the OKC euthanasia list — and she wasn’t alone. Seven tiny, 5-week-old nuggets were set to die with her.

I had already said yes to so many dogs in the weeks before. I knew I was pushing it. But then I saw her eyes.

So I said yes one more time.

Nova and her seven little Supernova nuggets came to the Haven, and she was an absolutely amazing mama to those babies. ❤️

And once mama duty was over, we got to know Nova.

Bro… this girl is hands down one of the best dogs at the Haven.

She listens. She knows where she belongs and doesn’t wander into places she isn’t supposed to. She loves to run and play, but she’s also become the big sister of the Haven — helping guide some of the younger dogs and showing them the ropes.

And then there’s cuddle Nova. 🥹

This girl can curl up in your lap like a giant baby on a restaurant patio, people walking past, life happening all around her, and she could not care less. She’s perfectly content right there with her person.

Bonus points if you have chips. 😂

She does have ONE little character flaw…

🐿️ SQUIRRELS.

If Nova decides a squirrel needs chasing, a 6-foot wooden fence becomes merely a suggestion. 🤦‍♀️😂 And after her unauthorized adventure? She comes right around to the front door like, “Soooo… you gonna let me back in or what?”

I could write forever about this girl and still not explain what makes Nova so special.
She was almost never given the chance to raise those babies.

Now she deserves the chance to finally be somebody’s baby herself. ❤️

Nova is still waiting. A handful of her Supernova Krew are still waiting too.

🌙 Maybe tonight’s the night we throw one more wish at the universe that her person finally sees her.

🐾❤️ MEET KODA ❤️🐾

Some dogs come to the Haven loud and ready to tell you exactly who they are.

Koda came quietly.

This handsome boy was dumped in North Tulsa with absolutely no street sense, standing on an almost blind corner and jogging along a road barely wide enough for one vehicle — while people fly through there without a second thought.

So Koda came to Meraki. ❤️

We don’t know what life looked like before he got here, but there are little moments that make you wonder. Sometimes this sweet boy will actually whimper just because he wants normal pets and cuddles or while he is getting cuddles, almost like an old memory popped up and he needs the reminder that hands can be kind.

And once you give him that love? He melts. 🥹
Koda is one of the most affectionate boys here. He wants to follow his human around, be wherever you are, and soak up every cuddle he can get. Those gorgeous brown eyes surrounded by the most ridiculous natural black eyeliner make him even harder to resist. ❤️

He’s been such a good boy since the day he arrived — quiet and reserved, perfect in his run, no accidents, and slowly showing us more and more of who he really is.

Apparently, part of who he really is… is a wrestler. 😂

He started out pretty unsure about joining the fun. Nova was okay. Little W***y was okay. But then he discovered Abel and apparently decided, “Yep. THAT’S my dude.” Now Abel is his favorite invitation to roughhouse, and watching this once-reserved boy loosen up and PLAY has been pretty damn special.

He does occasionally decide outside time can absolutely wait when Oklahoma turns the thermostat to hell. 😂 Hot heat is NOT Koda’s jam.

Mostly, though, Koda is just a gentle, affectionate boy who wants his person.

A human to follow. A hand reaching down for another pet. A safe place where he never has to wonder what happens next.

Koda has spent his time at the Haven learning that life can be kind.

Now he just needs someone to show him that it can be forever, too. ❤️🐾

🐾💙 MEET NILO — blue eyes, satellite ears and absolutely ZERO volume control required. 😂

Nilo found himself on the OKC shelter euthanasia list after being hit by a car.

Thankfully, what this sweet boy really needed was time.

Time to rest. Time for the road rash to heal. Time for the limp to disappear. And once he felt better, we got to meet the REAL Nilo...

And apparently the real Nilo is part dog, part bucking bronco. 😂

He comes out READY TO GO — zoomies first, questions later. He runs, plays and has the funniest little cross-legged prance when he jogs around the yard.

Then he gets those initial zoomies out of his system and suddenly...

Baby.

From day one, Nilo has let me scoop him up and hold him in my arms like one. He'll settle right in and soak up every chest rub you'll give him like that's exactly where he was supposed to be all along. ❤️

Nilo is deaf, but that really isn't the headline of who he is. He's smart and does well learning hand signs. His world is just a little quieter than ours (which can be awesome while living with heelers and lil frenchie mixes).

And with those gorgeous blue eyes and giant pointy ears, he's pretty damn good at keeping track of what's happening anyway. 😂

He's a smaller guy, not super tall, happy-go-lucky and full of personality. He loves playing with his dog friends, but he does need proper introductions with new dogs and should be fed separately from other pups.

Nilo survived getting hit by a car.

He survived landing on a euthanasia list.

He healed.

And now this blue-eyed little bronco is just out here living his life, doing his goofy prance, playing with his friends and waiting for somebody who sees Nilo — not the deaf dog, not the shelter story, just the ridiculously sweet little dude he is. 💙🐾

🐾❤️ MEET RUNE — our bucking bronco, giant-stick-hauling, stop-and-smell-the-flowers kind of boy.

Rune's story with us started on the OKC shelter euthanasia list with a badly broken front leg.

Thanks to an amazing village that rallied around him, we were able to say yes, get him safely to the Haven and get that leg the surgery it desperately needed. ❤️

His injured leg healed with some hyperflexion, and his good front leg has some of its own too, so Rune moves through this world a little differently.

Apparently nobody told Rune that's supposed to slow him down. 😂

This boy lives like every single day might be the best day he's ever had.

Rune can hit the yard like a bucking bronco, tear off into zoomies, come flying back with pure LIFE shining out of his eyes and then stop with that giant happy grin on his face like he's considering his options...

Another lap?

Run inside?

Obviously another lap. 😂

But that's only one side of Rune.

Give him time outside and he'll explore every inch of the yard. He'll investigate the brush pile, carry around sticks that are entirely too damn big for him, wander off to inspect something interesting and, every once in a while, this high-energy goofball will actually stop to smell the flowers.

Then he'll come find his human.

And that's when the bronco disappears.

Rune absolutely melts into cuddles. ❤️

That's probably one of our favorite things about him — there is so much life packed into this boy, but underneath all that energy is an incredibly sweet dog who just wants to soak up some love before heading off on his next Rune adventure.

Snow? He's in.

Sunshine? He's in.

Giant stick? BEST DAY EVER.

Cuddles? Also best day ever.

Rune already got the second chance that saved his life.

Now we'd really love to see him get the one that gives him a life of his own. ❤️🐾

🔥🐾 EMBER — THE HAVEN MVP 🐾🔥

If the Haven had an employee of the month, Ember would probably have tenure by now. 😂❤️

She’s our go-to dog tester, puppy controller, peacekeeper and all-around best vibe girl. She has saint-like patience with the other dogs, can absolutely FLY when she decides it’s time to run, and somehow knows when she’d rather skip the nonsense and hang inside in peace. Honestly, respect. 😂

Ember loves exploring the brush pile, digging for moles, hanging with her humans and just being part of whatever is happening. She’s amazing with kids, tries her best to be gentle even when she gets excited, is potty trained and has been an absolute rockstar in her run from day one.

She hasn’t been around cats, but when it comes to what kind of home she wants? Ember says she’s basically a chameleon. Give her safety, love and her own people and she’ll learn the life and rock it. ❤️

This girl has spent so much time helping other dogs at the Haven.

Now we need to find the human who chooses Ember. 🥹🐾

🐾 MEET OAKLEE 🐾

Oaklee’s story with us started after she was dumped in a North Tulsa park. She appeared to be living in a storm drain, dragging an injured front leg through the bitter cold. A Facebook post went up, the right equipment happened to be on hand, and not long after — Oaklee was safe. ❤️

Her front leg ultimately had to be amputated, she healed beautifully, and then she landed what we thought was her forever.

For about eight months, Oaklee shared that home with another strong-personality girl. They both loved toys. They both loved their humans. And eventually those two things caused enough fights that the safest decision was for Oaklee to come back to us and get another shot at finding her forever.

She came back with a torn ear that needed time to heal, but underneath it all was still our same Oaklee.

Our little Care Bear. 🥹❤️

Oaklee LOVES her people, belly rubs under the clouds and — above basically everything else on planet Earth — FETCH. 😂

Seriously. Fetch.

Tennis balls usually reign supreme, although rubber throw toys are absolutely acceptable. She likes collecting every ball she can find, and if she suspects there is one somewhere that she is somehow being deprived of… you may hear about it. 😂

And that missing front leg? Oaklee apparently never received the memo that a tripod is supposed to slow down. This girl can MOVE. She runs, turns and chases that ball with an amount of speed and agility that makes three legs seem like plenty.

She also has her days when outside simply isn't where she wants to be, and that's okay. We follow her lead. Some days are for running after tennis balls; some are for hanging closer to her people.

Oaklee is smart, ridiculously lovable, and has the most beautiful honey-colored eyes and coat. ❤️

She already found a home once.

This time, we want to find the one that truly fits her.

💕🐾 FINLEY — 498 DAYS WAITING FOR HER FOREVER. ❤️

Some of the biggest personalities come in the smallest packages, and Finley is living proof! 😂💕

Our little Finley girl might be one of the smaller doggies at the Haven, but don't tell HER that. This girl has big-dog confidence, a whole lot of personality, and a way of making you smile with those floppy ears and adorable head tilts. 🥹

498 days.

On June 3, 2025, Finley arrived at Meraki alongside Cayden after the two were found dumped in Turley. Two little souls who had no idea how much their worlds were about to change.

They found safety, full bellies, furry friendships, and a place to grow.

But Finley is still missing something pretty important.

A family of her very own. ❤️

This girl is smart, curious, and wonderfully food motivated. If there's a treat involved, you've definitely got her attention! 😂🦴 She's always ready to see what you're up to, especially if there's a chance something delicious might be involved.

And those ears! One minute they're flopping around as she's doing her thing, and the next she's giving you that perfect little head tilt like she's trying to figure out exactly what you're saying.

Finley has that beautiful combination of sweetness and s***k. She's got the confidence to hang with the bigger doggies and enough personality to make sure nobody forgets she's there.

She's still polishing up her potty training, but she's learning and growing along the way.

What gets me is thinking about how much life these doggies have already spent waiting. Finley has grown into this incredible little girl right here at the Haven, but there's a whole world of experiences she hasn't gotten to share with her very own people yet.

The little everyday things. Having someone who knows her favorite treats, laughs at her goofy expressions, and looks forward to seeing those floppy ears every morning.

498 days of being our little Finley. How beautiful would it be if the next chapter was finally about being somebody's forever girl? 💕✨

💙🐾 CAYDEN — 498 DAYS OF WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER. ❤️

Some dogs have a way of looking right into your soul, and Cayden? This handsome dude has a whole lot to say with those incredible eyes. 🥹

Beautiful gray eyes with a hint of blue circling the edges, a face full of expression, and a personality that can go from ridiculous zoomies to melting into you for cuddles.

498 days. That's how long Cayden has called Meraki home.

He came to us on June 3, 2025, after being found dumped in North Tulsa alongside Finley. Two who deserved a whole lot better than the beginning life handed them.

And while they've grown, learned, and discovered all kinds of happiness here at the Haven, there's still one adventure Cayden hasn't gotten to experience.

Having a family of his very own. ❤️

Cayden is one of those boys who can make an ordinary afternoon entertaining without even trying. He loves tearing around the yard, getting those zoomies out, and enjoying life with his furry friends.

But he's also got a softer side that absolutely shines when it's time for affection. This boy loves his cuddles just as much as he loves his adventures.

He's incredibly smart, does fantastic with potty training, and is an absolute rockstar keeping his run clean. Give him a hard chew toy or marrow bone, and he's one happy dude. And don't be surprised if he happily accepts a little carrot or celery, too! 😂🥕

He can get a little excited when other dogs are barking, so proper introductions and a little patience help him settle into new friendships.

What I love about Cayden is that he's got this beautiful mix of playful energy and genuine sweetness. He can be silly, adventurous, and full of life, then turn around and remind you just how much love he's been saving up.

498 days of being a good boy. 498 days of growing into himself. 498 days without a family calling him theirs.

Somewhere out there is someone who would absolutely fall in love with those extraordinary eyes, those goofy zoomies, and that big, beautiful heart.

And I sure hope they find him soon. 💙✨
