We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes

directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,200 dogs since 2008. Please help us save even more with a donation marked "Special Needs". Our greatest need is for donations for our Special Needs dogs who are listed on the "Save a Dog" page on our website at www.PPRFL.org.

Sure, Romeo is tall, dark, and handsome, but he’s got more than good looks and great hair going for him. He’s also the chillest one-year-old dog that you’ll ever meet.

Here are a few of his favorite things:

🚙 Roadtrips - He’s a passenger princess and always has the best playlists for whatever your mood.

🧸 Toys - Romeo has never met a toy that he hasn’t loved. And by loved, we mean tossed in the air, chewed on until slightly soggy, and then pounced on multiple times.

🐾 Walks - Romeo’s a huge fan of walks. He loves walking the neighborhood, nodding to the neighbors, reading his pee-mail, and strutting his stuff. He’s so good on walks that he doesn’t even pull!

If you think this handsome guy may be the pup you’ve been looking for, then visit us at www.pprfl.org for his full bio and the application to adopt.

Adopt Baby! She’s a 9-pound, 11-month-old Yorkie blend.

Favorite Things: Baby is a social butterfly who loves being near her people above all! She'll greet you everyday with enthusiastic tail wags and kisses. She is also extremely playful and adores toys: the more, the merrier!

Training & Manners: Although still a relatively young pup, Baby is well on her way to becoming a little lady! She is housetrained if let out regularly, is a well-behaved passenger on car rides, and sleeps in her dog bed at night. If playfulness tips over into nips, she listens immediately if told not to nip. She needs a family who can commit to continue her training in areas like leash-walking, and she does need both physical and mental exercise: like any puppy, she sometimes does chew if bored for a long period of time.

Health & Care: Baby is a healthy girl who is spayed and simply needs her monthly flea and heartworm prevention. As a Yorkie, she will also need regular brushing and routine grooming appointments to keep her beautiful coat looking and feeling its best.

Other Animals: Calling all dog-and-cat people: Baby loves cats! (Even though the feeling is not always mutual). She seems to get along with other dogs, too.

Children: Baby is a hit with older, kind, respectful children ages 8 and up.

Ideal Home: Baby would do well in a single-family home, condo, or an apartment: wherever there is someone around to give her lots of attention.

Overall: Baby has a very loving, sweet disposition and is a wonderful dog: all she needs now is a family who will raise her, train her, and love her forever.

Do you think Baby could be your new baby? Visit www.pprfl.org to submit an adoption application. If it looks like a great match, her foster family will reach out with more information.

Lily and Rita are a one-year-old bonded pair weighing in at a whopping 9-lbs, combined.

These two are true Girls’ Girls. They love a good dance party, enjoy sunning themselves, and get excited about trips that involve drive-through treats. 💃🏻☀️🍟

They are an affectionate pair who enjoy cuddling with humans and each other. And if they happen to choose a cuddle spot that gives them the best view out the window so they can snoop on the neighbors, that’s just a coincidence.

To learn more about these lovely ladies, visit us at www.pprfl.org for their full bio and application to adopt.

Adopt Benji! He’s a 4½-year-old Goldendoodle weighing in at 65 pounds of fluff, fun, and friendship.

Favorite Things: Toys are Benji’s absolute love language — the more, the merrier — and he has a charming way of turning even the simplest playtime into a full production. He’s equally enthusiastic about car rides, happily hopping in for any adventure, big or small. While he enjoys activity, he doesn’t need constant motion; he’s just as content settling in for cozy moments, especially if that includes snuggling close.

Training and Manners: Benji is house trained when let out regularly and has solid foundational manners that make him an easy companion in the home. He walks nicely on a leash, settles well into daily routines, and enjoys being part of the family at bedtime, happily snoozing alongside his people.

Health and Care: Benji is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He receives monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention, just like all other dogs. His beautiful coat will need regular professional grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep him looking and feeling his best.

Other Animals: Benji has a wonderfully easygoing approach to other animals. He tends to mind his own business around other dogs and has experience living with cats, showing respectful and calm interactions. His adaptable nature allows him to fit into a variety of multi-pet households with ease.

Children: Benji adores being around kids and has shown that he enjoys their presence and energy. Because of his playful enthusiasm and larger size, he does best with slightly older (8+), more sturdy children who can match his spirited personality.

Ideal Home: Benji is looking for a single-family home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. He thrives in a home where people are around often, as companionship is one of the most important parts of his world. Social, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented, Benji loves being included in everyday routines as well as special outings and adventures. Because he forms strong bonds and feels most secure near his family, he’ll do best in a home where he isn’t left alone for long stretches of time.

Overall: Benji is the kind of dog who brings warmth, laughter, and heart into a home from the very start. True to his famous name, he has that classic “hero dog” spirit — loyal, loving, and always ready to be close to the people he adores. He combines affection, intelligence, and a playful streak that makes life with him both joyful and deeply rewarding. Whether he’s trotting by your side, proudly carrying around a toy, or curling up nearby at the end of the day, Benji has a special way of making every moment feel a little sweeter. He isn’t just looking for a place to live — he’s looking for a true connection, and when he finds his people, he’ll give them his whole heart.

If Benji sounds like your kind of dog, visit PPR at www.pprfl.org and fill out an application. If it seems like a good fit, his foster parents will reach out.

Orlando-area foster home needed for this sweet bonded pair!

Sheila and Shiloh are 4-year-old Chihuahua siblings and best friends. They’re tiny pups - just 8 lbs. and 5 lbs. respectively - and said to be affectionate little snugglers who love to burrow in blankets. They get along with other dogs, and although they’ve never lived with cats, we’re told they may be okay with cats, too. They will need to return to our vet for light dental cleanings, and a spay for Sheila (Shiloh is already neutered).

Fostering is FREE - we provide the supplies, dog food, medications, and vet care. You provide the love, cuddles, and photo updates about how your fosters are doing.

Are you ready to open your home to Sheila and Shiloh? Visit PPRFL.org to submit a foster (or adoption!) application. 🏠 🐾

Adopt Sky! She’s a beautiful two-year-old, 24lb Aussiedoodle with a loving personality and a big heart for people.

Favorite Things: Sky absolutely loves toys and treats! She enjoys tossing her toys around and happily shows off her “sit” and “stay” when a tasty reward is involved. She’s a playful, joyful girl who thrives on fun and interaction.

Training & Manners: Sky is still young and learning, so she’ll need a family committed to continuing her training. She’s done well with housetraining but does best on a consistent schedule. She knows how to sit—especially when treats are involved—and is eager to please, though she can get a bit distracted. She’s also working on her leash skills, as she tends to get very excited and may pull. With patience and consistency, she will continue to improve.

Health & Care: Sky is a healthy girl and just needs her monthly preventatives to stay that way. As a poodle blend, she will require professional grooming every 8–10 weeks to keep her coat looking its best.

Other Animals: Sky loves other dogs and would enjoy having a playful canine companion, though it’s not required. She also coexists well with cats and generally ignores them.

Children: Sky is looking for a home with teens or adults only.

Ideal Home: Sky is adaptable and can thrive in an apartment, condo, or house. Most importantly, she needs a family who will give her the love, attention, and stability she deserves.

Overall: Sky is a happy, affectionate companion who will bring joy and playful energy into her new home. With continued guidance and plenty of love, she has all the makings of a loyal and wonderful best friend.

Could Sky be the one for you? If so, visit www.pprfl.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information.

Charla was ADOPTED!!! 🏡

Adopt Charla! She’s an 8-lb Chihuahua - Dachshund (Chiweenie) blend and only 9 months old.

Favorite Things: All Charla wants is to be near her human or a dog friend as much as possible. She particularly loves being held like a baby and will fall asleep in your arms. She also loves snacks and will eat her food extremely fast. She also enjoys playing fetch and will bring toys back... most of the time. Can be quiet and shy when first meet but will accepts all the love after she’s familiar.

Training & Manners: Charla is a quick study and is already housetrained if let out frequently. She needs a bit more practice walking on a leash: she'll walk well for a while will sit down if tired and will roll in grass a lot. Other than that, she is a good passenger on car rides and sleeps in her dog bed at night.

Health & Care: Charla is a healthy girl who just needs the flea and tick preventatives that any dog needs. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She shouldn't need too much elaborate grooming, either.

Other Animals: Charla gets along well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes! In fact, she prefers having another canine companion around if her people have to leave the house. We don't know how she'd do around cats, though.

Children: Charla hasn't been observed around children yet, but her foster reckons she'd do well with kind, understanding, older children (ages 8+).

Ideal Home: This sweet, quiet girl would do well most anywhere, be that a condo, apartment, or single-family home. She is very quiet inside the house but will bark if her human is out of sight initially and then she will calm down.

Overall: Has charming Charla stolen your heart? If you think she might be your perfect match, please visit www.pprfl.org to submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information.

Rosita was ADOPTED!! 🏡

Adopt Rosita! She’s a 2‑year‑old, 20‑pound Spitz.

Favorite Things: Rosita has a selective palate and enjoys life’s softer moments. Toys don’t hold her attention, but grilled chicken certainly does: she brightens the moment she realizes it’s coming. She appreciates peaceful company, cozy places to rest and a steady flow to her day.

Training and Manners: Rosita has a solid foundation of basic skills. She is house trained when given regular outdoor breaks, settles easily in either a human bed or her own and rides quietly in the car. Her leash style still has a bit of personality, but with consistency she’ll develop a smoother stride. Once she feels at ease, she responds thoughtfully and shows a steady, growing confidence.

Health and Care: Rosita is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Like all dogs, she’ll need monthly heart worm and flea and tick prevention. Routine baths, brushing and nail care keep her comfortable and looking her best.

Other Animals: Rosita does well with small, easygoing dogs who respect her pace. She hasn’t met cats yet, though her temperament suggests she could adjust. She’d also be perfectly happy as the only pet.

Children: She’d do well in a home with older children (10+) who move calmly and give her time to settle in.

Ideal Home: Rosita would be fine in an apartment, condo or townhome. A quiet household with predictable routines will help her continue to grow. She bonds closely with women and can learn to trust men who approach her with patience. A relaxed environment where she can observe and reveal her sweet nature at her own pace would be ideal.

Overall: Rosita is a soft‑hearted little rose; reserved at first but full of warmth once she feels secure. She’s calm, thoughtful and ready to blossom in a home that appreciates her gentle spirit.

Does Rosita sound like your girl? If so visit www.pprfl.org to apply. If it looks like a great match, her foster family will reach out with next steps.
