We love and respect when a family wants to take dog ownership slow and decides to sign up to Foster to see if they are ready. And it’s the best feeling ever when their Foster dog makes the decision for them! 🥹

Meet Pepper, now officially known as Kuzco! 🐶💙

When this sweet family's neighborhood page shared that Hunter's Village Rescue was in need of fosters, they decided to take a chance. With three children (ages 14, 6, and 3), two parents who work from home, and a fenced backyard, they had been considering adding a dog to their family for some time.
They had plenty of experience dog-sitting for friends, and the kids were already accustomed to helping with feeding and walks. But they wanted to make sure they were truly ready for a dog of their own.

Enter Pepper. ❤️

Now, it wasn't necessarily love at first sight for everyone. Pepper needed a little extra time to feel comfortable with Dad and his oldest human brother. But this family didn't rush him. They showed him patience, kindness, and unconditional love, allowing him to build trust at his own pace.

And wouldn't you know it? That little foster dog worked his way into EVERYONE'S heart. 🥹

When it came time to decide whether Pepper should officially join the family, the vote was UNANIMOUS! 🎉

Pepper, now Kuzco, isn't just their first foster dog, he's their very first family dog! 🏡❤️

We couldn't be happier for this sweet boy and his wonderful new family!

And to think, it all started with a neighborhood Facebook post asking for help. This is the magic of fostering. Sometimes you're giving a dog a temporary place to land. And sometimes you're welcoming home the family member you didn't even know you were missing. 🐾

We are 100% volunteer run so every penny raised goes to the vetting of rescue pups!

Join us for BarktoberFest, a splash-tastic dog swimming event at the Bob Makinson Aquatic Center! Let your furry friends cool off and enjoy a fun day of swimming. It's the perfect way to celebrate the season with your pup!

Owners are required to provide proof of current rabies vaccination or shot records. All dogs will undergo an aggression check before entering the aquatic center, and any dogs showing signs of aggression may be turned away. While owners are welcome to accompany their dogs, owners will not be permitted to swim and may only enter water up to knee depth.

Foster Pup Party status: ABSOLUTELY OUT OF CONTROL (but in a good way). 🎉🐶

The remaining rescue Rat Terrier pups currently “running” Eastman's Escape For Healthy Pets hosted an all-out, zero-rules Foster Pup Party today, and the energy was unhinged in the best way possible.

Here is the official incident report from today’s festivities:
🍿 The Catering: 10/10. Kibble was devoured in record time, followed by aggressive begging for snacks.

🎾 The Entertainment: High-speed zoomies, WWE-style wrestling matches, and a total coup over the outdoor play area

😴 The After-Party: all tiny bodies passed out in their individual crate sanctuaries for a long rest.

Hunter’s Village Rescue rescued both boys and girls, ranging from 1 to 13 years old, and every single one of them shares the exact same life philosophy: Play hard, eat good, and love your humans even harder.

Their ideal forever home needs three things:
* A solid supply of toys and maybe a pup playmate to wrestle with.
* A willingness to share comfortable seating.
* Plenty of love and lap space for post-zoomie naps.

Sometimes the best things happen when you simply put the thought out into the universe. 🥹

Four years ago, this family started talking about dog names…and just one week later, they found Goku, their terrier mix, and welcomed him into the family. Rescuing him was one of the best decisions they ever made, and they knew any future addition would be a rescue too. ❤️

Fast forward to this past month. With Goku a little older, the family, including three human siblings, started talking about adding another fur baby.

And then they happened across a Facebook post featuring Chili. 👀
Sound familiar? 😂

They decided to foster him with hopes of adopting, and apparently Chili got the memo because he made herself right at home. 🏡🐾

We’re thrilled to announce that Chili is officially ADOPTED! This sweet 1-year-old Goldendoodle now has a dog brother in Goku, a whole family to love him, and a brand-new name:
💙 BENJI BLUE! 💙

Makes you think some things really are just meant to be. Happy forever, Benji Blue! 🐾

🐾 JUMPING FOR JOY… MEET WALKER!

And honestly, this pretty much sums him up. 😂❤️ Just look at his contagious smiles!

Walker is a 1-year-old, 9-pound Rat Terrier mix who is playful, happy-go-lucky and absolutely LOVES other dogs. His favorite things are wrestling with his foster siblings, zoomies and generally living his very best little-dog life.

🐶 Walker does need a dog sibling in his forever home. He is extremely dog-focused, ridiculously friendly with small dogs and does great with big dogs, too!

He’s crate trained, making great progress on leash and still working on potty training. He’s not much of a lap dog, playtime wins over snuggle time for this guy!

Walker is one of the 14 terrier mixes we rescued from the 85-dog Lake County hoarding case, and he’s ready for the happy ending he deserves. ❤️
