Welcome Mama Bella and her four puppies to IBR! 💗🐾

Bella was surrendered to the Fresno Animal Center with her five babies (one unfortunately did not survive) when her owner could no longer care for them. Being a brand new mother and going from having a home to being in a very loud shelter, Bella was just being a protective mom as any mom would be.

Unfortunately, Bella and her babies had zero rescue interest and had a deadline fast approaching due to no interest. When we saw their picture, and still needed rescue help, we immediately reached out and put a plan in motion thanks to their amazing foster for saying “Yes!”

Thank you so much to Mona for coordinating travel arrangements (she did not even hesitate when we reached out asking about transport) and to Bob with Pilots N Paws for flying this little family to Sacramento where they immediately went to their foster home where they can decompress, receive lots of love and all the vetting they will need.

Rescue truly takes a village and today showed exactly what that looks like.

Currently on Purina One Plus Healthy Kitten and uses her litterbox with Feline Pine like a
champ!
Mama was an outdoor cat that was brought in with her 3 babies. She was such a great
mom, she even took on one more baby a couple of weeks later and raised her right along
with the rest! Those babies have since been adopted and she has decided to be my foster
partner to another litter of 4! She lives in a house with a submissive dog and other cats but
would prefer not to be.
Are you looking for a cat-panion?
Mama is a BIG talker that requires you to talk back, tell her she is so pretty, and pet or brush
her. Not a big fan of being picked up but still wants to get all the attention. Coming from
outdoors, she will need some patience as she comes out of her shell. She likes to explore
and be around people though, since that is where the pets come from. She will need lots of
those as she adjusts to life without babies. Her markings and ombre ears make her such a
pretty girl and the way she sits and walks reminds me of a cheetah.

Are you looking for a “project kitty” who just needs the right person to help her shine?

Hazel was once an IBR bottle baby who was sadly abandoned and now needs a dedicated, patient foster home to help her get back on track. She has a big personality and can be feisty at times, but there’s so much potential there. She is currently on a daily medication to help support her mood which she takes in her food easily.

Hazel will need her own room to serve as a safe home base. While we’re still learning how she may do long-term with other animals, she does currently hiss at them and hasn’t had much opportunity for slow, structured introductions. She would likely do best in a quieter home without young children.

She isn’t your typical scaredy cat — she’ll come out of hiding for food and treats, loves to play, and thrives with mental stimulation. However, when she feels threatened, she may swipe. She needs someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to move at her pace.

✨ All food and supplies are covered — we just need you to provide the space, patience, and love.

Magpie (or Maggy) is a shy, sweet boy who opens up and blossoms into a playful little man. He loves to chase balls and play with his siblings and other cats. He enjoys sitting near his people and observing all the goings-on but he isn’t much of a lap cat.

You can win his heart over with churu (squeezable wet cat treat) and lots of attention and care to his needs. He does not belong around kids as they will likely stress him out, but he would do well in a house with other cats and a patient person.

This Zebra wears her heart on her sleeve!

Zebra is a fluffy girl with a lot of love to give. She is a bit shy when you first meet her, but she can open up very quickly and will steal your heart. She has lots of distinctive markings, including a heart that appears when she stands with her front legs together, a cute little black nose, and a long, feathered tail.

She loves to play. Churu is the way to her heart. She isn’t a lap cat, but she does love gentle strokes on her back and to be right in the thick of things watching everyone and everything. She does well around other cats and was raised around dogs. She is probably not the best cat for families, but she would do well with a couple or single person who can give her the space she needs at first and the love she needs after she knows you.

Penguin is a chill guy with a big heart. He is always dressed to the nines with a tuxedo and can win over anybody. He always seems a bit confused, but he makes up for it with his cuddles. He likes to sit on laps and loves people. He’s quick to purr with just a few scritches. His favorite toys are strings and balls.

He loves other cats and was raised around dogs. Penguin would do well in any home.

Jynx's most charming feature is her adorable bunny-like Manx tail. When she gets excited, she even does the cutest little bunny hop as she runs, making her impossible not to fall in love with!

Jynx and her littermates are FeLV-positive kittens, but her diagnosis doesn't slow her down or affect her playful, affectionate personality. Because of her FeLV status, she will need to be adopted into a home without other cats or with cats who are already FeLV-positive.
