Valka is a gentle, playful girl who may take a little time to warm up, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality starts to shine! Even when she gets a little feisty during playtime, she’s gentle and keeps her claws tucked away. 💕

After raising her babies, Valka is ready for a home of her own where she can enjoy being the center of attention!

She’s litter box trained, but she does have a mischievous side! 😹 She may knock things off counters and likes to nibble on plants, so kitty-safe plants and a little cat-proofing will be important. She’s also not a fan of dogs, so a dog-free home is best.

If you have a little patience and room in your heart for a sweet girl who’s ready for her next chapter, Valka might just be your girl! 🐱💗

🐾💜 Our kitties need YOU! 💜🐾

Third Coast Pets Alive is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue, and right now, our kitties need a little extra help.

We’re taking in medical cases, getting our foster cats spayed and neutered, and providing medications and extra care for those who need it most.

Lately, we’ve been seeing lots of panleukopenia cases, which require antibodies and supportive care, along with fevers of unknown origin that can mean a day in the hospital. And as we all know, vet bills add up quickly! 😿

We don’t want to turn away a kitty who needs help, but we can’t do it alone.

Meet Mamacita Margarita (Margs)! 🌸

Margs is a sweet young mama with a big heart and a shy side. After being rescued with her babies from an unsafe situation, she’s learning that people can be trusted.

She really wants love and affection, but she needs a little time to feel safe. Give her patience and space, and she’ll soon be rubbing against you, soaking up pets, and maybe even giving you a special little love bite! ❤️

Margs gets along well with cats of all ages and is looking for a patient person who will let her blossom at her own pace.

We get asked often about if the potential adopter should get one kitten or two. Or if they need a kitten for their current kitten/cat.

Yes, kittens do better with a friend most of the time. There is always exceptions to the rule.

A kitten's favourite toy is another kitten, and your feet are the backup plan. 🧡

That is why many rescues place kittens in pairs.

Two is often easier than one. 💛

Adoption fees... are they really worth it? Why do rescues charge an adoption fee/donation?

We are a 501C non profit organization. We only run on donations. And we NEED the adoption donations to help offset the costs described below.

This is eye opening!

The adoption fee is one of the best deals around, and most people only find that out from the vet bills they never got. 🧡

A typical shelter cat arrives already neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested and treated for fleas and worms. Bought separately at a private vet, that list often comes to several hundred dollars, against a fee that usually sits between fifty and a hundred and fifty. What is left over helps the next cat through the same door.

He came with the paperwork done. 💛

Stuffy is a 2.5-month-old red tabby boy who is always ready for his next adventure! This playful little guy is obsessed with balls, pom-poms, and pretty much anything he can chase around the room. 😻
