ISO: Assistant trainer

SFR Equestrian is growing, and we’re looking to welcome an assistant trainer to our team. We’re looking for an experienced instructor who is passionate about teaching and ideally looking for a full-time, long term position (30-40hrs per week). Must have evening and weekend availability.

The ideal candidate has a background in the hunter/jumper disciplines and is comfortable coaching lessons of all levels. They will help perform training rides on a variety of horses & ponies and should not need to retain their Amateur status.

Equestrian Canada Certification is preferred, such as Instructor of Beginner or higher, but we’re open to considering equivalent certifications from other organizations or someone who is in the process of becoming certified.

From returning partnerships to new combinations, this amazing group has been putting in the work both at home and in the show ring. We’ve already celebrated some fantastic starts to the season, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings.

Camp is almost here, and we’re gearing up for an amazing summer at SFR Equestrian! ☀️

Our July 13–17 Show Camp still has a few spots available! This camp is designed for intermediate to experienced riders looking to take their riding and horsemanship skills to the next level, with a focus on developing confidence, independence, and knowledge both in and out of the saddle. Unsure of skill level - contact us!

What’s included?

🐴 Daily riding lessons
🐴 Horsemanship and horse care lessons
🐴 Crafts, games, and interactive activities
🐴 Show preparation and stable skills
🐴 Family fun show on Friday

SFR Equestrian is looking for horses to add to our growing programs on a free lease, with the possibility of a lease-to own or paid lease for the right fit.

Our program is diverse, with everything from advanced adult riders capable of bringing along green/younger horses, to summer camps, horsemanship lessons, and trail rides, which are the perfect low-impact job for older horses only suitable for light work (walk/trot).

Training rides by our instructors are included as needed. Horses are only used 1x per day and always have a day off every week. Horses should be able to live outside 24/7 in a small group. Grain and supplements, medications, and shoes are not an issue.

Owners are welcome to visit at any time, and references can be provided upon request. A 2-4 week trial period is preferred to ensure the right fit for everyone. Trailering provided.

Tres Jolie is a beloved grade large pony mare ready to shine in the show ring. A 2017 model, she is big bodied and takes up leg well but is an easy measure at 14.1hh. She is currently in consistent work, proving herself to be both athletic and versatile with great movement and a clean lead change both ways.

She comfortably jumps a full course and always impresses in the dressage ring with her presence and movement. Tres Jolie has even shown her fun side in the costume classes, trail riding, and swimming in the river.

This athletic and eye-catching mare offers a fun set of gears, making her an excellent match for teens or small adults looking for a smooth, enjoyable ride. She has a little bit of sass, so isn’t for someone nervous or a complete beginner, but with a confident young rider she could really go any direction. We are a hunter jumper barn so we see her potential as a hunter, and Jolie has plenty of scope and all the makings to work her way up to the Large pony division.

Jolie is well loved and use to be handled and ridden by kids. She is good for bathing, clipping, and trailering. She is an easy keeper, barefoot, no grain, and can live in or out. She is up to date on farrier, vaccines, dental, coggins, and in full work. She is a clean slate with no history of injuries and no maintenance. Located in North Gower, asking low five figures starting with a ✌️
