Kaya has come a LONG way with leash reactivity, manners in public, and learning she doesn't need to bark and chase everything that moves! She even surprised her human mom at our last lesson by being able to walk past another dog on a walk and not go into velociraptor mode for the first time ever. 😆

🐾 Meet HANDSOME ROB!

He is a 4-year-old Rescue mix who landed with his current family after arriving at Humane Pet Services in Council Bluffs via a bus from a shelter in Texas.

Not every dog comes to training to learn Sit, Stay, Come or Down.

Handsome Rob already has a good obedience foundation. He's joining us for Behavior Modification lessons to work on calm, loose leash walking and building confidence passing other dogs and people on walks, calmer guest greetings, and building calm, confidence in new environments.

By helping both Handsome Rob and his paw-parents understand his reactions, they're building the confidence needed to enjoy walks together. His mom has already noticed a difference in one lesson.

AMOS completed his Behavior Modification Training! 🎓🥳

This 3-year-old Supermutt was rescued from a dumpster at 6 months old before landing with his current family. No wonder his confidence was low, scared of everything, used barking as a means to keep others at bay and was reactive on walks to the point where it was not fun.

During our time together, his owners learned how proper structure, guidance, leadership and communication could help him feel safe. Amos learned how to settle and let the world move around him and he gained confidence in passing other people, dogs, and cars on walks. He even became calmer with his highest triggers - mailmen, Amazon deliveries and trash trucks.

Once his humans better understood the “why” behind his behaviors and how to fulfill his instincts while providing clear direction - things really started clicking. 💜

Amos has come a LONG way with leash reactivity, manners in public, and learning he doesn't need to bark and chase everything that moves! He even surprised his human family with a calm walk at Walnut Creek recreation area - even passed a dog and people on the trail without incident - and calmly relaxed at the playground area before heading calmly to the car.

CUDA COMPLETED HER TRAINING! 🎉🤩

This 1-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix was a rescue from a kill shelter in Texas by way of a foster before landing in her current family.

When Cuda started, this sweet rescue girl was still learning how to navigate her brand-new world. With patience, structure, and a very dedicated human family, she’s made wonderful progress in such a short time.

She’s more confident, walking better on leash, improved her obedience, and made great strides around other dogs - even met and took her first pack walk with a new dog she met for the first time! Most importantly, her humans now have the tools to keep building on everything she’s learned. 👏

SO proud of CUDA and everything she’s accomplished and of the dedication that helped her get there. 💜🐾 ⭐

Welcome SHELBY to the AFDT Pack! 🐾

Shelby is a beautiful 6-month-old Mini Goldendoodle who's equal parts sweet, silly, and full of personality! 💜

She's started her Pro Package training, where we're working on potty training, leash walking, reinforcing his obedience, door manners, and helping her learn to remain calm despite more distracting environments.

Shelby jumped right into her first lesson, and she and her paw-parents are already seeing progress and off to a fantastic start!
