🐿 Why We Do What We Do 🦡❤️
Our primary goal is to provide support to our local community by helping families in need with pet food, supplies, and other animal-related resources. We also work closely with neighboring rescues and wildlife rehabilitators to help where we can.
These opossums are here through Ojai Valley Wildlife Care. Because we have license required facilities and space to house young adults, we can take them in during the final stage of rehabilitation and allow them to grow up safely until they are ready for release. This helps free up valuable space and time at Ojai Valley Wildlife Care so they can focus on younger animals that require intensive, around-the-clock feeding and care.
In other words, we spread the workload so more animals can be helped.
The opossums currently in our care are self-feeding, active, and doing exactly what young opossums should be doing—growing up wild. Once they reach the appropriate age and size, they'll be released back into their natural habitat.
Whether we're helping wildlife, caring for sanctuary animals, or providing pet supplies to local families, our mission remains the same: supporting animals and the people who care about them.
