Angie the cockapoo is ready for a home!

This 2 1/2 year old came to us a scared matted mess but looks and acts like a totally different dog now! She gets nervous at first with new people, and doesn’t share her food, but is otherwise mostly a fun bouncy playful puppy once she bonds, happy around her doggie friends, and a really sweet cute little girl. She’s healed from her spay, was a good girl for her shave down, updated on shots, treated for an itchy painful ear infection, and is ready to start her new life. About 15lbs full grown, she is looking for an owner who will be committed to making sure she gets regular grooming throughout her life. She was wee wee pad trained in her previous home and will use them but is also learning to follow the other dogs out into a fenced yard to go to the bathroom. She would like a calmer adult home with another little doggie buddy to boost her confidence.

Meet our newest senior friend Coco!

Miss Coco is a 10 year old Shih Tzu surrendered because her owners were moving and unable to take her. She’s a sweet gentle soul but still has a young playful side to her- loves playing tug of war and chasing squeaky toys, and she prances and skips like a little wind up toy on her walks. She’s fine with other sweet gentle-souled little dogs, a bit needy and anxious and likes to be around her people. She has some early kidney disease and can be a bit of a picky eater so we are still figuring out her dietary preferences and getting her into a routine. She was scared and stoic at first and her expressions make her look grumpy but she’s not at all and is a really sweet happy little companion who settles in quickly.

Another big first for our little Sussex county dump case survivor Champ- first time walking on a leash! And he’s picking it up like a pro! He’s very food and toy motivated once he feels safe and bonds and shows so much potential to learn new things quickly. He still needs a home with a securely fenced yard for now as he continues to practice, and it might be a while before he learns to go to the bathroom on leash walks (housebreaking in general is still a work in progress though he does target wee wee pads and follows the other dogs). Boop 👃

It took us almost a year, but we can finally boop that big amazing schnauzer nose! But definitely don’t try it when you first meet him 🛑

Hunter has been one of the most challenging schnauzers to get to trust us, but it was worth the wait! He’s 8 years old and a scared guy who loves hanging and playing with other dogs but it’s a long time before he will let new people anywhere near him. It took months of just leaving him alone and letting him let us know when he was ready, and he still has some fearful moments and needs sleepy drugs for the vet and grooming, but deep down he’s a sweet sensitive soul and he gives us those famous schnauzerly eyes of love at last 😍

Hunter will need a patient adult home with at least one other dog (he loves pack life, the more the merrier!), and someone with no expectations or timeline, where he can be himself and bond on his terms. He’s 20lbs, tall and lean with a perfect natural long tail and ears as all schnauzers should be.

Kurt is making great progress and turning into a brave young man! He’s only been with us a week but is following everything his “big brother/cousin” Champ does for better or worse. He’s following us around, jumping for attention, will do anything for cheese or a squeaky toy and is even letting us pet and pick him up tentatively! Not bad considering we had to wrap him in a towel to touch him last week! We see a lot of potential in this little guy, still just a baby around a year old or less, 10lbs full grown. He loves, follows and plays with other dogs and definitely needs a pack or at least one other friendly playful dog to take him under their wing. He looks like some kind of Italian Greyhound/Chi/Jack Russell type mix, one of the 50+ from the recent horrible Sussex County dumping/hoarding case, but he’s showing us just how resilient these little survivors can be.
