Eight-year-old Eloise “Lulu” Peck — who loved all animals, even bugs — was one of the 27 young girls who died at Camp Mystic during the catastrophic floods in Texas Hill Country. A year later, she’s being posthumously recognized with an award from the ASPCA.

Heat reminders 🥵🐕⛱️

🚨☀️ HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR CLEVELAND ☀️🚨

A Heat Advisory is in effect for Cleveland and Cuyahoga County from 2 PM today through 8 PM Wednesday. Heat index values could reach the upper 90s to around 100°F! 🥵

Please take extra precautions to keep your pets safe during this dangerous heat:

🐾 Bring pets inside whenever possible.
💧 Make sure they have access to plenty of fresh, cool water at all times.
🌳 Provide shade if pets must be outside.
🔥 Never leave your pet inside a parked vehicle — even for a few minutes.
🐕 Avoid walks and strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day. Remember, pavement can become dangerously hot and burn paws!
