TWO YEARS FEAR FREE CERTIFIED ✨💓

Fear Free care wasn’t something that started when I earned these certificates it’s how I’ve always believed animals deserve to be treated. 💜

Two years ago, I made it official by becoming Fear Free Certified in both Pet Sitting and Boarding & Daycare, giving me even more education and tools to put those values into practice professionally.

I’ve always believed in meeting animals where they are: respecting their boundaries, paying attention to what they’re communicating, never forcing interactions, and choosing patience over pressure.

Becoming certified gave me a deeper understanding of fear, anxiety & stress, animal body language, and ways to make care as comfortable and positive as possible.

Two years later, those principles continue to be at the heart of Morgan’s Trusted Tails. 🐾
Because loving animals is one thing 👉🏼 advocating for their comfort, choices and emotional wellbeing is another!!

Here’s to continuing to learn, advocate & provide the kind of care I’d want for my own animals. 💜

Happy 4th Birthday to a very special fur baby, Louie! 🥳🤎🐾

Loubooboo has been a frequent client since 2023, and I’ve had the honor of celebrating multiple birthdays with this big guy! 🥹

Louie is the most energetic tank 😂 always ready to play, go for a walk, or spend time with his bestie Loki. But between all the chaos, he’s just as happy to snuggle up and share a nice slobbery smooch. 😘

Happy birthday, you crazy boy!! So much love for this big chocolate chunk!🤎🎂🐾 Here’s to another year of zoomies, treats, slobber & adventures with Morgan’s Trusted Tails! 🥳

Some lessons are much bigger than dogs.
A child says, “No thank you”
An adult says, “Oh, go on. He’s friendly.”
A child moves away.
“Don’t be silly.”
They hesitate.
“There’s nothing to be scared of.”
“Just give him a little touch on the head.”
And perhaps without ever meaning to, we've taught them something we never wanted them to learn.

We've taught them that an adult can know better than they do about whether they should feel comfortable.
That another person's persistence and reassurance can matter more than the feeling telling them they don't want to do something.
That saying no doesn't necessarily make the asking stop.

That's a pretty big lesson.

And dogs give us an extraordinary opportunity to teach the opposite.
That moving away should be respected.
That we don't keep pursuing interaction when the other party is trying to end it.
That being friendly doesn't entitle anyone to touch.
And that “No thank you” can simply mean no thank you.

There are lessons children learn around dogs that have very little to do with dogs.

They can learn that boundaries matter.
That their own discomfort is worth noticing.
That another's discomfort is worth noticing too.
That consent isn't something we simply get.
It's something we learn to give, receive, notice and respect.

Because sometimes what looks like a little lesson about how to behave around a dog,
is teaching something much, much bigger.
