🐾🔥 HEAT ALERT FOR MY BOUJEE PAWS & CLAWS FAMILY! 🔥🐾

Just a heads-up to all of my amazing clients: the heat is no joke this week! 🥵

With temperatures already feeling unusually warm early in the morning and the heat index expected to approach 100°, I’ll be taking extra precautions with our pups over the next several days.

When it’s this hot, a normal walk can quickly become too much for our four-legged babies, especially on hot pavement. Their paws can burn, and dogs can overheat much faster than we realize. 🐶☀️

So for the safety of your babies, walks may be shortened, moved to a cooler time of day, or replaced with a quick potty break and some indoor enrichment when necessary.

Please know I will NEVER push a pup through unsafe conditions just to get a full walk in. Their safety comes first, always. ❤️🐾

I’ll also be keeping a close eye on:
🌡️ Temperature & heat index
🐾 Pavement temperature
💧 Hydration
🫁 Signs of overheating or fatigue
🌳 Shade and cooler walking areas

If it’s too hot for me, it’s definitely too hot for their little paws! 😂🔥

🐾💕 A WHOLE WEEKEND OF PUPPY LOVE! 💕🐾

This past weekend, I got to spend the entire weekend with one of my weekly walking clients! Normally, I get to see this sweet girl during the week for her daily walks, but this weekend I got the full puppy-sitting experience. 🐶💕

And let me tell you… this girl has NO OFF SWITCH! 😂

We went on tons of walks, played, explored, and had plenty of puppy fun. She is truly GO, GO, GO from the moment she wakes up until the moment she finally decides she’s had enough. 😂🐾

But when she finally poops out and gets tired, those snuggles are THE BEST. 🥹❤️ There is nothing better than a happy, exhausted pup curling up next to you after a weekend full of adventures.

I loved every minute of our weekend together, even if she managed to keep me on my toes the entire time! 🐾💕

🚨🚨🚨And now for a little Boujee Paws & Claws heads-up:

To everyone who has reached out about pet sitting, my husband will be having another knee surgery here shortly, so I’ll be taking some much-needed time to be with him and help him through his recovery. ❤️

Because of that, my availability will be very limited for a little while. If you’ve already reached out about dates, I’m working through my schedule and will do my very best to accommodate everyone I can.

🐾💕 Spending the weekend with a familiar face makes pet-sitting extra special!

As much as it’s hard to be away from my own pups, there’s something wonderful about returning to a regular client and being welcomed right back in. 🥹🐶
This gorgeous girl is actually a regular of mine, so getting to catch up with her for this weekend stay was such a treat. She isn't much of a cuddler—she prefers her personal space over lap time—but she’s a total shadow who likes to know where you are every single second of the day! 🥰

Knowing that I can give my clients complete peace of mind while they’re away means the world to me. Whether they love belly rubs or just prefer a loyal shadow keeping watch from across the room, every pup gets the absolute best care. ❤️
I may come home completely exhausted after a busy weekend of pet sitting, but my heart is always a little fuller. 🐾❤️

🐾 Ohio friends, today’s air quality is being impacted by smoke from the Canadian wildfires, and while we may just notice a hazy sky, our fur babies can be affected much more quickly than we realize.

Dogs breathe faster, spend more time closer to the ground where pollutants settle, and can be more sensitive to poor air quality, especially puppies, senior dogs, and pets with heart or lung conditions.

Here are a few ways to keep your pets safe today:
🐶 Keep walks short and stick to potty breaks if possible.
💧 Make sure fresh, cool water is always available.
🏡 Keep windows closed and use an air purifier if you have one.
🌅 Try to go outside early in the morning or later in the evening when the air may be a little cleaner.
👀 Watch for signs of coughing, wheezing, watery eyes, tiredness, or difficulty breathing.

At Boujee Paws & Claws, your pets’ safety and well-being will always come first. Today might be a great day for indoor enrichment, extra cuddles, puzzle toys, and a movie marathon with your best four-legged friend. ❤️

🐾 Your pet’s safety will always come before a paycheck. ❤️

This week’s heat has been absolutely relentless, and while I know our pups love their walks, extreme temperatures can quickly become dangerous.

At Boujee Paws & Claws, I may recommend rescheduling, shortening, or even skipping a walk if the pavement is too hot or the heat index reaches unsafe levels. Paw burns, heat exhaustion, and dehydration can happen much faster than people realize. No adventure is worth risking your best friend’s health.

Instead, we’ll get creative! If it’s safe to do so, I can offer:
🐶 A later evening potty break if temperatures cool down.
💧 Fresh water and plenty of love.
🎾 Indoor playtime, enrichment, and lots of belly rubs.
❄️ Air-conditioned snuggles and companionship.

Every decision I make is with your pet’s best interest at heart. They trust us to keep them safe, and that’s a responsibility I take very seriously.

Thank you to all of my amazing clients for understanding when Mother Nature has other plans. Summer doesn’t last forever… even if it sometimes feels like the sun is trying to personally settle a grudge with Ohio. ☀️😂

🐾 Today’s Dog Walking Forecast is in, thanks to ABC 5 News! 🐶☀️

🌅 Morning walks are the clear winner today!
🐕 6 AM: 69° 🌙
🐕 8 AM: 73° ☀️

🔥 By the afternoon and early evening, temperatures climb into the upper 80s:
🌡️ 4 PM: 88°
🌡️ 6 PM: 87°

While it’s not as brutally hot as we’ve seen lately, those sidewalks can still get pretty toasty on sensitive paws. If your pup is joining me for a walk today, I’ll be sticking to shady routes, bringing plenty of water, and keeping an eye on everyone to make sure tails keep wagging instead of tongues hanging too low. Because nobody enjoys hot feet… except maybe people who willingly walk barefoot across beach parking lots. Humanity continues to make fascinating choices.

💧 Remember:
🐾 Check the pavement before heading out.
💦 Bring water.
🌳 Stick to the shade whenever possible.

Every morning before I head out, I check ABC 5 News because they have something I absolutely love… their Dog Walking Forecast! 🐶❤️

Today’s forecast:
🌅 6:00 AM: 64°
🌤️ 8:00 AM: 69°
🥵 4:00 PM: 86°
🌞 6:00 PM: 85°

With temperatures reaching the mid-80s this afternoon and evening, Boujee Paws & Claws will NOT be offering afternoon or early evening walks today. Your pups’ safety will always come before sticking to a schedule.

When it’s this warm:
🐾 Pavement can become dangerously hot.
💧 Dogs can overheat much faster than we do.
🌳 Potty breaks and indoor playtime are much safer options until temperatures cool down.
