Itā€™s been a little while since weā€™ve introduced ourselves, so hi to all of our new followers! šŸ¤Ž

Iā€™m Shelbie, and this is Marley, the heart behind my entire business. Sheā€™s my soul dog and the reason I found so much love and purpose in helping other dog owners. So much of what I do today started with her, and Iā€™ll forever be grateful for everything sheā€™s taught me.

Thanks for following along with us and being part of this little community šŸ¾

Socialization does NOT mean your dog needs to greet every person or every dog they see.

True socialization is about teaching your dog how to confidently navigate new environments, sounds, surfaces, objects, and situations. Juno wasnā€™t sure about this unsteady object at first, so we used positive reinforcement to help him work through that uncertainty. By the end, he realized it wasnā€™t scary it was actually FUN! šŸ¾

Does your dog only listen in your living room? Then the second you step out into the real world, all that obedience goes out the door? šŸ˜‚

Thatā€™s why real life proofing is so important. We see this a TON.

Nami held this beautiful down stay while squirrels, birds, bikes, people, and plenty of other distractions passed by.

The goal isnā€™t just a dog who knows their commands. Itā€™s a dog who can follow through on them when real life is happening around them.

You donā€™t have to set hours aside every day to train your dog. Find ways to make training part of the routine youā€™re already doing. I already had my little guy at the playground, so it was a great opportunity to work her around the sounds of children playing and get some really good confidence work in.

Consistency is such an important part of dog training. You canā€™t teach your dog something once and expect them to be a robot and remember it forever. Training is about repetition, reinforcement, and continuing to build those skills in everyday life.

Dogs everywhere, every day. I really canā€™t complain. My favorite kind of chaosšŸ¤Ž

I love seeing them have the freedom to run, explore, play, and just hang out without having to be on top of them every second.

Thatā€™s what all the training is for. Not to make them robots, but to give them the freedom to enjoy life.

Pretty sure I ended up with exactly the life I was supposed to havešŸ¾
