FIDO's Companion Rescue Inc. FIDO's Companion Inc. Weekly we rescue dogs as well from many other rural county shelter in mid and southern Ohio and KY before they are put to sleep.

is a small non-profit 501(c)3 organization operating in Lorain County made up of volunteers who perform vital functions in the process of rescuing animals. We primarily rescue dogs from the streets in our County and County Dog Pound or ill/injured dogs coming into our Vet Clinic from Cuyahoga County. We secondarily assist with taking in homeless stray dogs and funding the spay/neuter of homeless dogs and cats for other independent local rescuers and vet clinics who take them in off the street and work to rehome them. Lastly, we help fund the Spay/Neuter of dogs that low income owners cannot afford. FIDO's Companion rescue strives to find new adoptive families willing to make a lifetime commitment and be lifetime companions for each dog we rescue. Our focus is on the QUALITY of life we provide to one canine companion at a time. FIDO's Companion believes that the value of what we do is not in the Quantity of animals we save, but in the Quality of the new life we provide to them. We also know we cannot rescue our way out of pet overpopulation, therefore, we work in our rescue and with our community to ensure spay/neuter is achieved for animals we come into contact with or are made aware of needing altered. We also strive to educate the public including school age children about humane treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering pets

Meet 11 year old SPOT!

Spot is one of the many dogs in Fido's Companion's Palliative Care Program. Fido's is committed to not only helping get dogs adopted, but also caring for senior dogs and dogs who have great medical needs who still deserve to have quality end of life care.

His foster mom Gayl has cared for Spot for five and a half years! Spot had a traumatic background and will not allow most people to touch him, but he does love other dogs. His safe space is his crate and he spends quite a bit of time there.

Spot has recently started on pain medication for arthritis which has helped him tremendously.

Between food and medication the cost for Spot's care is over $150 per month. However, Fido's believes he still deserves the best care.

HUGE shout out to Kevin and Lawrence of Pet-tique in Lakewood for hosting YAPPY HOUR Thursday and generously donating their time and donating merchandise for Fidos. Their fundraiser raised $2599.00 for Fidos dogs!

We brought home tired puppies after seeing all the adorable pets in their costumes at the costume contest and hopefully this will also result in some adoptions for our tired pups.

Also, a big thank you to Timber Ridge Honey Company for donating a beautiful honey basket!

Fidos could not be successful without the generous help of these companies that selflessly give to us.

We are SO grateful!

Our Friends at the Huron County Dog Warden shelter just had an incredible breakthrough—thanks to generous community sponsors, all 4 of their long-term resident dogs (Dream, Texas, Valkyrie, and Poptart) now have their adoption fees 100% covered ($0 to adopt for approved families)! They just need families to step up and take them home. Let's show them some love—please take a second to hop over to their page, give them a follow, and help them unlock their upcoming shelter features: https://www.facebook.com/share/19pUZSVYCS/

100% Volunteer owned & operated. Supporting the Huron County Dog Warden since 2012. Working together on adoptions, rescue transports, new shelter plans, fundraising, and volunteer programs to help local dogs thrive.
