Chick & Charm Silkies

🎃 Tried to take some ✨ aesthetic ✨ fall photos of the chickies with their pumpkins the other morning… but apparently everyone just wanted to YELL 🤣

Let’s be real, there are very few things about chicken keeping that are actually aesthetic 💀😆

Fun fact: Pumpkins are a great fall treat for your flock! They’re packed with beneficial vitamins and minerals, AND provide plenty of entertainment. 🎃

PS: Give them a week and they’ll have those pumpkins “carved” for you. 🥰

Okay I know I have plenty of pink-loving chicken friends on here who will appreciate this and share in my excitement 😂 🩷

Run-Chicken literally just came out with a PINK automatic door (yesterday), and the timing could not have been better because I needed another door for my new grow-out pen.

I already have 3 of these doors and have been using them for years, so when I saw they were releasing a pink one, I had to wait because I needed it asap

Just had to share because I was way too excited when I saw it! 💗😬

Automatic chicken coop door with Bluetooth app control, customizable scheduling, light sensor operation, predator-proof aluminum construction, and reliable all-weather performance.

Goooodnight all ✨ 🌙

Rumor has it you can see our house (coops) from the freeway 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

PS. please don’t come for me… it keeps the predators at bay okay 😩😬

Hi little one 🥹💟

Ya’ll… I am GIVING UP on trying to predict mottled genetics 😭😩

Remember this lil “chocolate” mottled Showgirl from a couple months ago??? Well… this is her now. 🙃🙃 I kept this one and grew it out specifically to see what this partridge-like pattern would turn into this time.

Just another perfect example of why you really can’t judge a bird with mottled genetics by its chick down. They can change SO much as they grow, and sometimes what you see at hatch looks nothing like what you end up with. 😂

And yes, this update is also for everyone who was convinced this baby was partridge. 🤣🤣

Throwback to when Tucker wasn’t getting along with the birds in my black mottled pen, so I moved him to another coop.. and he decided to rebel by covering the broody girls in shavings 😂😭 And yes, he definitely knows his name 🤣

Cindi recently brought home four of our Silkies, and she sent us these adorable photos of them meeting one of the resident hens! 🥹

Thank you so much for sharing these with us, Cindi!
