📣📣Calling All Norman Animal Welfare Alumni!📣📣

Did your best friend find their forever home through Norman Animal Welfare? We want to celebrate them!

Annie’s Ruff House is excited to partner with Norman Animal Welfare to host a special NAW Alumni Reunion on September 30th.

This will be a full day of daycare to celebrate the dogs who started their stories at Norman Animal Welfare and the families who gave them their forever homes.

Norman Animal Welfare staff members will be on site to reconnect with the pets they have cared for in the past and see how they've grown and changed since finding their families😍❤️. They'll also have the opportunity to see how we run our play groups here at Annie's Ruff House😎.

‼️NAW alumni will receive 50% off daycare for the day of the reunion!‼️

⬇️⬇️Important for anyone who has not attended Annie's Ruff House before:⬇️⬇️

All dogs must complete a temperament test before the reunion in order to participate. Current proof of required vaccinations must be provided before the temperament test, including:

Rabies
Bordetella
DHPP
Leptospirosis

Dogs must be scheduled in advance for the reunion!

If you have a Norman Animal Welfare alum who you'd love to see at the reunion, please share this post with them💕! We want to bring together as many alumni as possible.

When people ask what the Norman Animal Welfare Society does, this is the answer.

Your support allows us to step in when animals like Mouse need specialized veterinary care that goes far beyond routine shelter medicine. Because of your generosity, we can give animals the opportunity to see specialists, receive advanced diagnostics, undergo life-changing surgeries, and get the treatment they need—not just to survive, but to thrive.

Mouse's story is a perfect example. Instead of accepting his condition, Norman Animal Welfare were able to send him to a veterinary ophthalmologist to make sure he received the very best care possible. Now all he needs is a family to love him.

Meet Mouse: A Tiny Cat with a Big Heart

Some cats begin life with every advantage. Mouse didn't—but he hasn't let that stop him from being a sweet, resilient little soul who is ready to find a family of his own.

Mouse has detached retinas that appear to be the result of trauma sometime before he came into our care. We'll never know exactly what happened to him, but we do know that he has been given every opportunity to receive excellent medical care. Thanks to the expertise of Dr. Schultz, a veterinary ophthalmologist, Mouse underwent a thorough eye examination to determine the best path forward.

The good news is that Mouse's condition can be managed with anti-inflammatory eye drops and routine monitoring to ensure his eyes remain comfortable. He has very limited vision in his right eye and is blind in his left eye, but he has adapted remarkably well. Cats rely on so much more than their eyesight, and Mouse uses his whiskers, hearing, and sense of smell to navigate the world with quiet confidence.

What Mouse needs most isn't perfect vision—it's a patient, loving home where he can feel safe. A consistent environment and a family who understands his special needs will help him thrive. In return, Mouse will reward you with companionship, resilience, and the reminder that happiness isn't measured by what we lack, but by the love we share.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Schultz for helping Mouse receive the best possible medical care. Now all that's missing is the person who will give this brave little cat the happy ending he deserves.
