The Modern Aviary Foundation!

Frosty is a 15 year old Goffin's Cockatoo. Goffin's Cockatoos are often described as some of the smartest parrots in the world. They are incredible problem-solvers, extremely social, and always looking for their next adventure.

While smaller than many other cockatoo species, Goffins require just as much attention, enrichment, and mental stimulation. Without proper care, they can develop behavioral and emotional challenges.

Frosty helps us educate the public about the importance of meeting a parrot's emotional and intellectual needs.

🦜 Meet Blú one of our Ambassador Birds here at The Modern Aviary Foundation!

Blú is a beautiful Blue & Gold Macaw and serves as one of the official Ambassador Birds for The Modern Aviary Foundation. With his brilliant blue feathers, golden chest, and larger-than-life personality, Blú helps us teach the public about responsible parrot ownership and avian welfare.

Blue & Gold Macaws can live 50 years or more and require a lifetime commitment, specialized nutrition, enrichment, veterinary care, and social interaction. Unfortunately, many end up needing new homes because families underestimate the responsibility involved.

Blú helps us show people just how intelligent, emotional, and complex parrots truly are.

The Modern Aviary Foundation has officially been incorporated as an Oklahoma nonprofit, and we’ve received our EIN from the IRS. Our next step is obtaining federal 501(c)(3) status so we can become a fully recognized tax-exempt charitable organization.

This filing is critical because it will allow us to:
✅ Accept tax-deductible donations
✅ Apply for grants
✅ Expand rescue and sanctuary efforts
✅ Provide educational programs for bird owners
✅ Help more companion parrots in need

Every dollar donated through this campaign will go directly toward our 501(c)(3) filing fees and startup costs.

Our mission is simple:

To rescue, rehabilitate, provide sanctuary care, and responsibly rehome companion birds while educating the public about avian welfare and responsible ownership.

We’re building something special for parrots and the people who love them, but we can’t do it alone.

🦜 We officially did it — The Modern Aviary Foundation is now incorporated as an Oklahoma nonprofit organization!

Our next major step is obtaining federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status through the IRS so we can continue building educational outreach programs, rescue advocacy efforts, and community support for companion birds.

We are currently raising funds to help cover:
✨ IRS filing fees
✨ nonprofit setup costs
✨ educational outreach materials
✨ ambassador bird care and enrichment

Every contribution helps us continue building something meaningful for birds and the people who love them. 💚

We’re excited to officially introduce The Modern Aviary Foundation — a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, sanctuary care, and rehoming of companion birds, while also educating the public about avian welfare and responsible ownership.

Our mission is rooted in compassion, education, and advocacy for the birds who deserve a second chance and the families who love them.

Whether through rescue efforts, sanctuary care, community education, or future outreach programs, our goal is to help build a safer, more informed, and more compassionate future for companion birds.

Thank you for being here and supporting our mission from the very beginning. This is only the start, and we’re so grateful to have you along for the journey. 💚
