Hi everyone!!
It’s been a while since we’ve checked in, so I wanted to say hello and share a little update on what’s been happening behind the scenes!
As you may know, Bayview Mini Dachshunds is a very small, in-home breeding program, which means we have a very limited number of litters each year.
To say 2025 was a whirlwind would be an understatement!
Last year we welcomed our largest litter yet—8 beautiful puppies—while also adding four new dogs to our program (three Dachshund puppies and a 6mo American Bully). On top of that, we brought in two additional dogs that we had hoped would become wonderful additions to our breeding program. Unfortunately, they just weren’t the right fit for what we’re striving to build.
Balancing all of that alongside full-time jobs, homeownership, our personal lives, and everything else that comes with adulthood made for one very busy year!

Because of that, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the slower pace that 2026 has brought. While we originally hoped to have at least one litter this year, this unexpected break has honestly been a blessing. It has given us the opportunity to step back, recharge, and focus on building an even stronger foundation for the future.
Our time off has allowed us to:
🩻 Work on health testing our next generation of dogs
📝 Focus on continuous education, learn from our mentors, attend seminars, dog shows, and more
🧠 Work with our dog trainer to help raise and transform our puppies in to well behaved citizens
👷🏼♀️ Complete our much anticipated kennel build for the dogs
✈️ Take a few much needed vacations!

‼️‼️‼️ We’ve had quite a few people reach out recently asking about puppy availability, and we truly appreciate every single inquiry. At this time, we don’t have any upcoming litters officially planned.
Our biggest priority right now is allowing our next generation to mature, complete all of their health testing, and ensure they’re exceptional candidates to continue our program. If everything goes according to plan, Maple—our keeper puppy from our last litter—will hopefully become our next future momma. That would likely put our next litter sometime in late 2026 or early 2027.
With the amount of interest we’ve already received, availability will likely be very limited.

In the meantime, if you’re hoping to welcome a puppy home sooner, I am incredibly fortunate to work alongside some phenomenal breeders, mentors, and friends. I highly recommend reaching out to Mingee's Longhair Mini Dachshunds & Dream Catcher's Dachshunds to see what they may have planned.
Thank you all for following along, supporting our little program, and cheering us on as we continue to grow. We truly appreciate every message, every comment, every puppy update, and every family who trusts us with one of our babies.
With love,
Kami, Kaden, and the dogs ❤️🐾
