I missed some really great photo ops because I didn't have my phone with me. She was here 39 days, and we watched a lot of YouTube together in the evenings.

She has been an absolute dream of a cat, very sweet and also a little demanding, as a princess should be. She would have me follow her from one room into the other. Then would insist I follow her back again. Back and forth. I felt she was testing me.

Now that she has gone home, last night I had to remind myself she is not upstairs.

Connecting with and loving these cats is the best part of boarding. Be assured, my own cats get a lot of that love as well.

I'm looking forward to sharing pictures and commentary about my current guest cat. It has been a long and interesting visit.

Meanwhile, today I managed to forget I had one of my kitty feeding bowls in a wrapped towel after cleaning it. When I grabbed for the towel, it flew to the floor. Disappointed.

In case anyone wonders why there have been no pictures for a long while, it's because I don't want to post pictures or names of the cats staying with me while the owners are away. I wait until the cat or cats go home.

In this case, I have had the same cat staying here for several weeks, and when she goes home, there will be pictures.

Since April, there's hardly been a week that there hasn't been at least one cat here, and for a while there were nine. It's been the busiest summer so far in the six years I've done this.

The interesting thing is that I have had only one new client this year (so far), one cat new to the B&B. The rest are regular cats I have already had as guests before. I think my business cards around town are not noticed, but word-of-mouth is the way it's been working.

That's fine with me.

Here are a few pictures of cats that have stayed here the last two weeks. Eight cats from the same household. They have T.V. and videos, a window to the world, and a chair for me for lap time. They have been here a few times before.

EDITED: A new home has been found for Ricky.

Hi all, Nancy here. I am making this post for Ricky. He has stayed with me several times and I can vouch for how affectionate he is. I have shared pictures of him here.

I cannot adopt another animal no matter how much I love them. If you can adopt Ricky or know someone who can, please let me know and I will pass on the details. This really is an exceptional situation.

From Ricky's person:

This is Ricky. My living circumstances are changing and Ricky can’t come with me.
He is an indoor/outdoor guy. Indoor because he loves human companionship (He sleeps cuddled up to me at night.) and being warm and dry.
Outdoor because he has a feral streak and is an exceptional mouser. If he doesn’t get outdoor activity he gets orange cat mischievousness. But when he can run off the feralness he is a super affectionate companion.
Ricky is a 3 1/2 year old rescue. I am sure he is part Maine C**n because of his appearance and he speaks in MC chirps and trills. He is neutered, chipped, and has vaccination records. He loves dogs that aren’t too aggressive.
It is so hard to let him go; I want him to be in a loving home where he’ll be happy.
Can you or someone you know provide him that home?
