ACDC Rescue brings in strays, animals from owners and shelters in the Philadelphia region – locally! We take both healthy animals as well as at-risk or urgent animals at shelters that may have broken limbs or infections. Every animal undergoes an initial vet exam, Felv/FIV/HW testing (cats), receive microchips, age appropriate vaccinations and spay/neuter. Treatment for additional medical conditions is required for nearly 60% of our rescued animals, including many urgent or at risk animals.

I like to hang out with you all the time. I like Playing with my cat toys. I will let you know when it is food time or if I want something by meowing at you. When you’re ready for bed I will curl up with you and go to sleep.

Adoption update on Chunky Monkey and Rocky Road.

“It has been three years since Rocky Road and Chunky Monkey went to their forever home. The brothers are as close as two cats could possibly be- frequently napping in a jumbled up panda puddle that makes it impossible to tell where one cat ends and the other begins! Both boys have such lovely personalities, and Rocky Road especially has come out of his shell and is now such a playful, silly little guy- just like his brother Chunky Monkey!

The brothers spend their days chasing each other, wrestling, running on their cat wheel, napping in fluffy blankets on cozy couches, and driving their sister (Pepsi) nuts!

Pepsi was firmly an only child before the brother cats arrived, but she has come to love their company. She often pretends to be annoyed by how much Chunky Monkey wants to be near her, but if I am gone all day- I come home to all three on the sofa together.

I have worked from home, full time, for many years now, so I am home with the cats all day- every day. This means I get a lot of time to play with them and also to watch them play together! It has been so wonderful to have two such loving and gentle boys join our family and I truly cannot imagine life without them.”

Adopting a solo cat can be a wonderful choice because many cats genuinely prefer being the center of your attention and thrive as the only pet in the home. Solo cats often form incredibly strong bonds with their people and love having all the cuddles, playtime, and sunny windowsills to themselves.

Meet me of our solo cats, Sootica.
Sootica adores human attention but has her own unique way of enjoying it. She won't compete for your lap as she prefers a space next to her human soaking up attention while keeping her independence. Sootica loves to be brushed and petted and will sit with her humans when they visit and give head butts and kisses but then also will walk away when cuddle time is over.

Everyone talks about bonded pairs and kittens, but today we're giving a shout-out to a solo cat!
Not every cat wants a feline roommate, and that's okay. Some cats thrive as the center of attention, soaking up all the love, sunny spots, and lap time for themselves.

Mahogany is a purr machine who loves to talk. She will certainly let everyone know when she is hungry, when she wants to chase the laser light, or when she is ready for a game of fetch with her favorite mouse toy.

In her free time, Mahogany enjoys playing in her cat tunnel and watching the leaves and wildlife outside the window. Her guilty pleasure is getting a tasty Squeeze Up treat, and she is always happy when one comes her way! 🐾💕
