☀️🐾 Summer Safety Tips for Your Pets 🐾☀️
As temperatures rise, it’s important to help keep our furry family members safe and comfortable all summer long!
🌡️ Never leave your pet in a parked car. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a vehicle can become dangerous within minutes.
💧 Keep fresh water available at all times. Pets can become dehydrated quickly during hot weather, especially when spending time outdoors.
🚶 Avoid walking during the hottest parts of the day. Early morning and evening walks are safest. Remember: if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws!
🌳 Provide shade and cool resting areas. Pets spending time outside should always have access to shelter from the sun.
🔥 Know the signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, or collapse. Heatstroke is a medical emergency and requires immediate veterinary attention.
🎆 Prepare for summer celebrations. Fireworks and gatherings can be stressful for pets. Make sure they have a safe, secure space indoors and that their microchip information is up to date.
🐕 Watch around water. Not all pets are natural swimmers. Always supervise them near pools, lakes, and beaches.
A little extra caution can go a long way in keeping your pets happy, healthy, and safe all summer long! ❤️
