Storms (Midnight Maisie Von Cluskey) family background is interesting considering she is a service dog. Storm has an excellent nose and is exceptional in focusing on tasks. She was born in Montana but her dam, Julie, was bred in Slovakia and brought to the USA pregnant. Storm’s dam is now a police dog in Montana for Granite County since retiring from breeding.

Storm is from an outstanding, top working pedigree. Julie’s sire, V Quo Vadis von der Teufelskehle, IGP 3, FH 2, is a son of the great V (LGZS) Pike del Lupo Nero, SchH 3 (SG-BSP), IPO 3
and is out of V Hailey von der Teufelskehle, IPO 3, herself a daughter of SG Jucan von Peroh, SchH 3, (BSPX3), FH 2 and V Bira von der Teufelskehle, SchH3 (LGA).
Julie's dam, VD Ester Cevaro, SVV 1, is a daughter of the outstanding male SG Henrik vom Wolfsheim, IPO 3 (V4 BSP 2015), FH 2, WUSV and V Rhea Cevaro, IPO 2, a daughter of V Hunter vom Andi, IPO 3, SchH 3 (SG-BSP) and SG Jawa Korenov sad, SVV 1.
Julie was bred to SG Baccary vom Peiner Burgpark, IGP 3, a very exciting dog who is getting a lot of attention in Europe. Baccary is a son of SG Bordy Blendy, runner up in the IGP 3 world championships in 2019 and V Dina vom Eisernen Kreuz, IPO 3, litter mate to Debby vom Eisernen Kreuz, the first female ever to win the IGP 3 world championships when she did it in 2017 and the mother of Nitra vom Eisernen Kreuz, only the 2nd female ever to win the IGP 3 world championships when she did it in 2022.

Picked out some of Storm’s highlights of titles, training, doggie friends, and puppy photos to show a bit about her. She’s really smart, has an excellent nose, and
some great character. Storm is also naturally very talented at knowing the second you’re not feeling good and puts her full attention on you trying to help with whatever you need. She is mobility, stairs, inclines, public access, as well as other training. She’s definitely a people pleasing dog and careful around seniors and injured people which makes her a great service dog. I remember sitting on a bench and a wheelchair user going by and Storm sucked right next to me giving the wheelchair user room to go by while taking her paw to move my leg so that it didn’t touch the wheelchair. That’s all natural instinct from Storm and not taught.

We did another pregnancy test today because Storm would not let the vet do an ultrasound and it says she’s pregnant. She’s protecting her belly, except from me. This is the second test that has been positive. She should be due about Veterans Day 11-11-26 and puppies be ready to go to their forever homes early January 1-11-27.

We’ve had a few outings and training with Storm, Stryder and Rogue. Storm is mostly resting at home. Stryder likes being in the drivers seat when I’m not there. Rogue likes going up and down the elevator during training. I’ll have to take Havok out soon for training too.

Storm is definitely a big time squirmer for the vet. Made it very difficult to take the ultrasound and she ended up standing up for the ultrasound still wiggling around. For being a belly rub dog, Storm was protecting her belly from everyone except myself today. I was the only one allowed to gently pet her belly. She had 2 vet techs and 1 vet grabbing her legs to hold her and she wasn’t having it being restrained by strangers. We are going to wait until about day 63 and see what happens. Her whelping box is ready in her own puppy room and we will just continue to be prepared.
They couldn’t see anything. We have plans to breed her next heat cycle in early early 2027, also with Ghost again, if she isn’t pregnant.

I attended a really good AKC class about the breeder toolkit. They showed everyone how to use their online system to register litters, individual puppies, and even how to edit puppy information. Plus they have a prepaid registration that saves quite a bit off AKC registration. It was very interesting and there are no paper forms involved. This newer way to register reduces paper and helps organize the litter paperwork with AKC. Very good class with information I can use in the future!

Ghost and Storm have been bred and we will know more next week on October 3rd at the ultrasound and puppy count X-ray about day 50. If confirmed, puppies should be born early November and ready early January for their forever homes.

When Storm and Ghost were breeding, or rather in between moments, I took a few photos of them together. Since it was Storms first time breeding we tried a lot of things and learned to just let them be and don’t interfere. It was definitely an all natural experience at their own pace. 😆 I’m happy to report Storms belly has no loose skin now and seems a bit bigger than usual. She loves her belly rubs still, so her belly is easy to check out. Storm will get an ultrasound around day 30 and get checked out at the vet. More to come…
