This poor girl was tied to a streetlamp for over a day and a half, according to a barbershop near by. We took her in for a couple of days and managed to find a foster parent for her but Applejack still needs a permanent home. We called around and apparently there's no more room for pit bulls at no-kill shelters. She is very quiet, sweet, and very affectionate. She has no problems with biting or ch

ewing and is very well behaved/low energy at home. Applejack is rather willful during walks but is pretty obedient. She is also pretty intelligent- we taught her to shake in 3 days! Please help us find her a home! Currently located in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Applejack is back and still looking for a forever home! Comment on this post if you're interested or know of anyone who is. She had a great time exploring on her hike yesterday, and passed out on the couch when she got home :)

Good morning everyone!

We've put together a full web-res bio packet in regards to Applejacks. The attached link allows you to download a PDF that has all her information in regards of her medical history, health, temperament, and traits.

If you could pass this around to ANYONE who is possibly looking to Foster or Adopt, that would be BEYOND amazing.

Again, thank you all so so much for your support. It means the world to us.

Just a reminder to all that Applejack's is still looking for a Forever Home! If you or someone you know is looking to adopt, please let us know! In the meantime, her Cone of Shame is off and we're hard at work retraining her to walk on her leash properly, and give high-fives and hand shakes.

Cone of Shame!!!

Our little miss finally had her big day thanks to the Park Slope Veterinary Center , their staff, and the amazing people that have helped us along this journey. She's resting up now but will be back on her feet in no time.

In the meantime, if you or anyone you know is looking to rescue such an amazing lady, please let us know! And please pass this message along if you can.

Allister made a great new Applejack flyer. We'll be posting these around the Brooklyn area today and through this weekend.

In the meantime, 'Jacks is scheduled to be Spayed on Tuesday, which is AWESOME news and wouldn't have been possible without all of you.

Again, we want to thank all of you SO SO much for your continued support. We wouldn't have been able to get this far without you.

An update:

I don't really ever ask for much. In fact, I rarely do. I hate it. But the sad fact is I've spent my entire life helping many, many people out with fundraising or making sandwiches for days for Hurricane Sandy victims or simply just helping someone move or build out their dreams.

Applejack needs surgery. She needs help. And she's needs a loving home. She needs a better life- way more than the one we found her in- one that was tied to a light post for a day and a half, abandoned and alone. And we don't have the resources or means that others may have. Our attempts to get to free clinics at 5 or 6 am have proven fruitless.

We've all spent what little money we all have towards her- even going as far as to put off our own well being so we can ensure that she's going to be fine.

Please help out. Please donate. Please spread the word that this amazingly lovely woman really needs a Forever Home.

Connie & Kevin found Applejack tied to a streetlamp, where she had been abandoned for over a day and a half, according to a barbershop nearby. She was clearly distressed; dirty, limping, hungry, yet still licking any passers-by that stopped for a moment to tend to her. After taking her in overni...

This morning we attempted to take 'Jacks to the Mobile Clinic to be spayed but by 6am there were already 34 people signed up and waiting (pre-registration was already full). Now she's peeking out the window and keeping an eye on the street. Hopefully we'll have better luck this upcoming week.

Until then, we're still desperately looking to find Applejack a Forever Home. Please pass the word around if you can. And thank you all SO SO much for your continued support.
