Meet Goldie. 💛
Today, Goldie enjoys the love, comfort, and security every dog deserves. But her life didn’t always look like this.
For more than five years, Goldie was used to produce puppies, giving birth to more than 10 litters while living in a commercial breeding facility—often called a puppy mill.
Thankfully, Goldie’s story didn’t end there. 💛
Thanks to Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, she was rescued and found her forever family right here on Staten Island. Today, she’s surrounded by patience, kindness, and unconditional love.
On National Puppy Mill Survivor Day, we honor dogs like Goldie and the resilience of survivors who finally get the chance to experience what every dog deserves—a safe home and a family who loves them.
If you’re thinking about adding a dog to your family, please consider adopting from a rescue or shelter. If you choose a breeder, research them carefully and make sure you can see where and how their dogs are raised.
Every dog deserves a life filled with love—not one spent producing puppies for profit.
Thank you, Goldie, for reminding us what hope and second chances look like. 🐾💛
