Oscar’s story began in the middle of winter, when he was found outside in a parking lot, cold and alone. He was just a tiny orange kitten who needed someone to give him a chance.
Surrey Hills Sanctuary took Oscar in, and from that moment forward, he became family.
Now Oscar needs our help again.
Oscar has been struggling with a serious condition affecting his colon. We have already pursued repeated veterinary treatments and manual procedures to keep him comfortable and help him through this, but they have only provided temporary relief. After everything he has been through, Oscar now has an opportunity for a more lasting solution.
This Friday, Oscar is scheduled to undergo a colonic stent procedure at Guardian Veterinary Specialists.
Guardian’s current estimate for his procedure, anesthesia, hospitalization, specialist and nursing care, medications, imaging, and the stent itself is approximately $6,080–$7,057, with more than $5,000 required upfront. GVS_Estimate__05_2026___165991.pdf
These costs come on top of the veterinary expenses Surrey Hills Sanctuary has already incurred for Oscar’s previous procedures and ongoing care. As a small sanctuary caring for animals who need us, a medical expense of this size is significant, and we are asking our community for help.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will go toward Oscar’s veterinary care and help us get him through this next chapter. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing Oscar’s story is just as meaningful.
Oscar was given a chance when he was found alone outside that winter. We want to give our sweet boy every chance we can now, too.
