It's unbelievable to think that three years ago, our little Josephine was recovering from an injury that would have claimed her life but for the intervention of Anjellicle Cats Rescue. This organization rescues cats in need of emergency care and arranges for their treatment with the help of caring cat lovers from all over. In honor of her third year living with a second chance, Josephine is donating her treat money to this guy in need below. She would love your help on fighting for Alfie, or any other Anjellicle kitty in need. π±β€
Our dear Alfie is at the emergency vet with fluid around his heart, please donate and share! http://chipin.anjelliclecats.org/donate/alfie-possible-heart-failure/
Alfie isnβt even two years old yet and is fighting for his life. He was having some trouble breathing in his foster home, but we assumed it was something manageable. He went to one of our regular vets today, who took X-rays, saw fluid in his lungs, and immediately advised us to take him to the emergency vet.
Alfie actually has fluid around his heart, making it hard for him to breath. This usually indicates heart failure; or even if something else is causing it, the emergency vet warned us that he may not have an optimistic outcome due to the fluid location. They have drained the fluid today and they are keeping him comfortable with medication to manage the fluid buildup (Lasix) and keeping him on oxygen. Tomorrow he will see the cardiologist and have an echocardiogram done to determine if it is heart failure or something else.
Poor Alfie already lost his brother, Avis, last August to cancer so we are doing everything we can to save him.
Emergency and critical care is incredibly expensive, especially with oxygen, but we never turn our backs on cats in our care. Please help us by donating and sharing his ChipIn.
