A nonprofit organization delivering critical support that keeps people and their pets together, preserving the human-animal bond for individuals facing hardship. The mission of Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) NY is to help New York City’s most vulnerable residents remain with their pets by delivering critical programs and services through a community of partners and volunteers. Our programs help

keep pets in their homes while protecting and promoting the human-animal bond that is so physically and psychologically valuable to our clients.

Thank you to our foster volunteer Michelle for fostering sweet Casey! Michelle and her partner Leslie .knott opened their home to sweet Casey in her guardian's time of need. "We had the best time with this goofy girl, who always demanded belly rubs and couch time. Such a sweet and affectionate 9 year-old Jack Russell-Yorkie mix with a serious underbite!" Thank you so much Michelle and Leslie!

On Fridays, we're going to be starting a Foster Friday series spotlighting our incredible volunteers who open up their homes to pets in need. Today's Foster Friday is Rob Coover! He's fostered a huge list of pets through PAWS NY, including most recently, Snickerdoodle!

Rob - "I started fostering after a long time without pets after my cats both succumbed to illnesses. I was excited to share my life with an animal temporarily, without having to look at the commitment having my own pets would entail. I'm frequently surprised at how totally OK I find myself being to make any adjustment or sacrifice needed to help a pet in need. If you're considering fostering I recommend it very highly, because it's a great feeling knowing you're helping not just a pet but a person in need, someone who's going to go through a rough time that's being made a little easier knowing their furry friend is going to be taken care of."

Thank you so much Rob and all our incredible foster volunteers!

Foster needed!! Alibi Cutiepie is a 7-year-old spayed female Pittie mix, weighing approximately 50 lbs. She’s a playful, affectionate girl who may be a little nervous around new people at first, but once she warms up, she’ll stick to you like glue!
Alibi is housebroken and walks well on leash. She isn’t a fan of other dogs, so she’ll need to be the only pet in the home. Volunteers with large dog experience, to the front! Pick up is in the Bronx, and Alibi would need to be fostered for 8-12 weeks. If you can give Ms.Alibi Cutiepie a cozy place to land, please reach out to [email protected]!
