Things have been hard…Benji was recently diagnosed with Mitral Valve Disease, a common heart disease in smaller breed dogs, he was in ICU for 24 hours with a congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema. That day, I almost lost him. I was lucky, very lucky, he has survived from it but medications can’t cure it, with our cardiologist’s help, we are looking into the surgery option. Benji is a very active boy, loves his ball so much and loves running, but now he is restricted to all the things he loves. We even eliminated bath times so I don’t cause stress for him, along with his soon to be 17 years old big cat brother - Boomer, bath is a “no-no” in our household now. Thanks to my friend- Coco .petopia I have another “bath” option for them. I have always thought these things are useless because I can always use a wipe, but now with daily life habits are forced to change, I finally know with sick and senior fur babies at home, these things can help a big way. I am still readjusting to our new life with a heart condition, and working on get Benji to the best doctors possible to cure it. I am hopeful and I will never, ever, give up. Just like what I told Benji: our little heart is now broken, but mommy will fix it!
