Before you judge or complain, take a minute and read....

For all my friends who rescue:
Every rescue and rescuer I know is at the same point we are: full, broke and exhausted. Every rescuer is to the breaking point. Compassion fatigue and the consequences are great in rescue. It wears your soul down.
Sadly, we rescuers can't take the ones going down for space today. Every animal control we work with this week has begged and sent pictures. We save them or they die. Many we could not save.
We. Just. Could. Not.
I'm not talking just about rescues I work with, but every rescue I know.
Those faces of the ones we could not save, they haunt our souls. Saying you can't save them all is nothing but a line uttered to try and ease the guilt. There is no easing the guilt.
Our personal lives suffer. Our wallets suffer. Our mental health suffers. If we lash out or do not get back with you in a timely manner, please be understanding. Ask how you can help. Ask how we are doing. Listen to us bitch for five minutes. But don't judge until you are the one deciding who to save and who you can't save.
If you can foster, please do. If you can donate, please do. If you can transport, please do. Hundreds lost their lives this week for nothing more than lack of space.
To everyone else, please spay/neuter, adopt a rescue, don't buy, keep your pets through their entire lives and consider the people who fight for animals and will have to fight for yours if you give them up or allow a litter to be born.

Ok all my cat rescue people.
My friend moved into an apartment and there was a cat there that was left behind by the previous tenants. My friend has her in the apartment with her, but she is not ready for another cat right now; that's another story for another time. All she knows about the cat is that she is about 12 yrs old and she is spayed and very friendly and she is missing her owners...(god I hate people!!)
If anyone can find it in their heart to give this cat a loving home to live out the rest of her life that would be great, or even a foster home for now. Please share..if I tagged you it doesn't mean I am asking you to take her in, it just means I know you will try to help. I feel really bad for her and I wish I could take her, but I really can not. THANK You!

Someone in a group I belong to made this for my Kali!

I lost one of my own Wednesday night, Kali, she had a Cancerous growth in her mouth. I rescued her from my back yard 11 years ago, she was pregnant and gave birth in my apartment, her and her babies never left. I never knew how old Kali really was, she showed up in my back yard 12 years ago. Wednesday night I had to say goodbye, it was hard as it always is. She was such a good girl, self sufficient, never bothered anyone and very loving.

Owning a pet is as much a responsibility as it is a pleasure. Your pet doesn't have the option of selecting his caretaker, and when you choose to become a pet owner, it's on you to be the best you can be. Your pet is counting on it.

I started doing cat rescue ten years ago and became "TNR" certified....i have rescued and adopted out many cats as well as the ones I kept, this week I will be starting to share my stories for almost every cat that came my way.
