My love affair with taxidermy started at a young age, mostly due to both a great love of animals and my family's frequent trips to various Natural History Museums, where I was fascinated by the preserved animals in the museum dioramas. I have always viewed these preserved animals as fascinating and beautiful, something which I want to express in my work. I want to challenge the common view of taxi

dermy as something grim and dark and present it in an approachable and beautiful way. I have always loved and respected animals, so it is very important to me to use only ethically sourced animals in my work. I am a working member of the Minnesota Association of Rogue Taxidermists and abide by their ethical standards. All of the animals used in my pieces were either frozen for reptile food or are surplus/unwanted parts from other industries. No animals were killed specifically for use in my work and all taxidermy work is undertaken personally by me. Hello and welcome to all the recent new 'like'ers! It's been a bit quiet here at Morbid Curiosities while I've been busy moving house, but fear not, there are plenty of weird and wonderful things planned for the new year!
