Driving home on the same commute I have taken for over 3-4 years, as I've worked in Show Low for a long time - although I live off-grid about an hour away - I finally had my luck catch up to me, and really I am so very lucky to have God's love and protection.
Many times, I came close to hitting elk that would come in the road and often in low light settings. This time it finally happened, well I didn't hit the elk, I don't know if we would have faired better or worse had I done so, but I swerved abruptly and wobbled for a while trying to recover before my Jeep rolled off the highway with no street light in sight. Thank God I always wear my seatbelt, and I pray that my testimony will encourage others to always wear theirs.
My Jeep was obliterated but luckily my puppy and I survived, though my puppy did suffer a bad break in his hind leg. I will be taking care of his surgery thanks to the help of my friends and family and supporters and the kindness of strangers who have begun to donate to a GoFundMe I created to help with his surgery costs.
I have filed a claim for my Jeep. I don't care about my Jeep, although obviously given where I live I am going to need to get a vehicle. My insurance should help me get on my feet eventually in that regard. My only priority at this time is Neo's surgery and recovery, then I will work on getting a vehicle ASAP. I'm just grateful we're both alive and that the family that was going to be adopting Neo is understanding and working with me as I will either be refunding them their deposit when I am able to - after all surgery costs are covered - or they will be given the first pick of the litter from my next litter in about a year's time.
Neo is so strong, and he's in good spirits. He's kissing the kitties, and he wants to play with the other animals so bad. I'm confident and optimistic that post-surgery will go well as he will need to walk on his leg and he is looking forward to being able to get back to being a puppy. I will do my best to ensure he makes the best recovery possible.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support and if you are able to donate and or share, just know that I appreciate you and your kind heart and support and prayers so so much. All glory to the Most High for helping us survive a very scary accident and near-death experience.
As if I didn't have immense appreciation and gratitude for my life already, albeit has never been easy, I certainly have a refined appreciation to be alive now.
