Canine Cohen Dog Training and Behavior Modification

Canine Cohen Dog Training and Behavior Modification Brooklyn based behavioral programs and personalized dog training solutions. I believe that dogs deserve to have the best lives possible.

That’s why I apply the best training techniques to motivate your dog, inspire you as a dog owner and help foster a better relationship between you both. Over the years, it's been an honor to help dogs with separation anxiety become more comfortable when they're alone; teach dogs in multi-dog households how to live peacefully with each other; help dogs understand how to come when called; and even h

ow to walk calmly on the city street near other dogs. But one of the most rewarding achievements is helping dogs overcome their fears, enabling them to become confident and happy dogs. Seeing humans learning to communicate properly with their dogs, for me, is what it's all about. I am a Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist, Veteran of the US Army, a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP),

As I reflect on 2025, I want to acknowledge how much the support, patience, and understanding from this community has meant to me.

Last year brought cancer, serious medical treatment, the loss of my dog Karma, and time away from my dog training business — none of which I expected, all of which changed me.

I’m deeply grateful to every client, colleague, friend, and follower who checked in, gave space when needed, and stood by me through it all.

Thank you for being here.
Here’s to moving forward — one step at a time.

🩻 Scans results are in — no new growth.

Next scan is April 1 (April Fools’ Day) — but of course it is.

The next three months are about recovery, rebuilding, and moving forward — with some much-needed time in sunny Florida with family before I come back for the next scan.

For the next year, life is written in three-month chapters — and I’m focused on the one I’m in.

🙌 Thankful for everybody’s support throughout this very long year.

Some people wear slogans.
I wear how I actually feel.

🖕 F**k cancer.

Grateful to Adayo Style for making badass designs like this and sending it my way.

If this speaks to you — get one, share the message, or gift it to someone battling cancer.

As this can be a joyous time for us, please understand for many dogs, it can be a very stressful experience for your canine companion, especially for dogs that are fearful of new environments and people.

To help, I’ve created a Free guide to help your fearful dog during the holidays.

Grateful to have some great friends who come to ring the bell and then enjoy some tasty food, especially churros and vanilla ice cream for dessert at Mexican diner, at my favorite local spot.

Today is the end of treatment for this year.

It’s been a long one — surgeries, chemo, radiation, setbacks, and a lot of showing up when I didn’t feel strong.

Last night, somewhere between not sleeping and letting my mind wander, I watched Cast Away. The symbolism landed harder than expected — survival mode, long stretches of waiting, and learning how to keep going when you don’t know what’s next.

There was a lot in it that felt familiar — feeling lost, isolated, in pain, and full of doubt. Still pushing through wave after wave, just trying to make it home.

Now standing at a crossroads, not knowing what comes next, but knowing I can’t stay where I am.

Today I ring the bell. 🔔

Time To Make A Difference.

It didn’t come as a surprise to anyone when I became a Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Wherever I go, it seems that dogs come to meet me. It started back when I was 9 years old living in Israel. One by one by one these dogs were following me and before i knew it, I had a pack of local strays to keep me company.

More recently, I was lucky to have a very spirited rescue dog I named Cheddar. As he grew up he started exhibiting signs of leash aggression. After approaching a few different dog trainers and working with Cheddar myself, I was inspired to help other dogs and their owners.

I started by volunteering with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue after adopting my current dog Karma from them. I realized that helping humans and dogs communicate better is the best way to saving these amazing dogs' lives, I decided being a Dog Trainer is the path for me.

This brought me to the largest, and most comprehensive dog training school in the world, Starmark Academy, where I graduated from the Canine Training and Behavior Specialist Program.
