We will have 4 kittens from Marengo St available for adoption in the next week.
There are 4 black kittens (one has been pre adopted) and 1 orange female kitten that will be fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, and given flea meds as soon as they weight more than 2 lbs.

Please note we adopt out kittens in pairs or in homes with other cats.

Unfortunately this kitty passed away today. He died wrapped up in a warm Sherpa blanket after licking up some churu which is all his body could take.

Some lessons to share:
1) mange is easily treatable if addressed early. If you see an old looking wrinkly kitty with shut eyes, reach out for help. Don’t buy garbage online that promises to treat it. Kitties like him need vet attention.
2) if you see they need help and you think you can’t help, don’t ignore or hope someone else deals with it. It’s cruel to do nothing.

He was with me for two nights and I did my best to keep him comfortable with my little dog crate, some gloves, catnip calming spray and churu. Was I hopeful that he would recover? Always. All I could do is try. But I also now have to dispose his body wondering if he ever had a home, wondering if I did enough and kicking myself that I happen to learn about him so late.

🚨 2026 MEDICAL FUND — NOW LIVE 🚨
Hola a todos — it's that time of year again. Kitten season is here, TNR is in full swing, and we're doing everything we can to stay ahead of pet overpopulation in Boyle Heights.
But right now, our most urgent need is medical care.
Every week, we encounter cats in our community who need help — some are spotted drooling from painful dental issues, others need checkups before heading to their adoptive homes, and some are dealing with serious conditions that require long-term care.
We've launched our 2026 Medical Fund to help us cover these costs and keep showing up for the cats that need us most. Every dollar goes directly to vet care for community cats right here in Boyle Heights and East LA.

Our medical case this week is a beautiful Siamese boy who has been drooling, eating poorly, and has a completely matted and dirty coat. We are currently working to secure him so that he can go to the vet this Friday. He will need a temp foster until he recovers from his medical procedure and is able to put on some weight. According to his feeders, he is very friendly but obviously needs some TLC to get back to his healthy self. He, along with another cat on the loose, appears to be one of the cats left behind by someone who has since moved out of the neighborhood.

Good news! Benito found his forever home and a second chance at love. He was picked yesterday by his new family where he will be cared for and spoiled. Thanks to all who got the word out about Benito. We have many more foster cats in need of a home. You can view them at our website under adoptable cats. 🐱❤️

*Adopt Johnny*

Johnny has been waiting a long time to find his forever home. After losing his best friend Tommy last fall, Johnny has kept his spirits up by making new friends and taking up bird watching. Every morning he wakes up to watch the birds emerge from the neighbors cable box after eating a light breakfast and finishing his morning calisthenics. He’s one of the most clever cats I’ve fostered and will do well in a home that appreciates his antics

*Foster needed* Benito is a beautiful chunky brown point Siamese kitty that was literally kicked out of his Boyle Heights home. Our wonderful trapper Doña Sonia knocked at Benito’s former home to ask why the kitty was outside since he almost got hit by a speeding car in St Louis St. The owner said she’s been trying to get him to go away because she doesn’t want him anymore. Meanwhile Benito has been crying at the door asking to be let in.

Can you provide him a temp place to crash? He’s very sweet and doesn’t understand why his former owners have left him to fend for himself through cold nights and rain.

Both Guero and Nopalito have been waiting patiently for a forever home. The kitties are extremely bonded and must be adopted together. They are not brothers but found each in a foster home after being rescued. They are fixed and vaccinated.

Almost 2, Johnny lives up to the orange boy cat reputation. He’s s***k, he’s spice, he can be nice, Johnny is Rock and Roll all the time. If he’s not bouncing and parkouring all over the house, he’s out stealing hearts and $$$. He won’t spill your secrets in exchange for attention and belly rubs. If you need a partner in crime, Johnny is the best boy.

Johnny is fixed and vaccinated. He will do well with a friend (human or not) who loves playing with him.
