Public service announcement: “He’s friendly” isn’t a recall command.

Especially when your dog is already halfway across the field introducing itself to the 160kg of dog I’m trying to keep under control 👏

A hippo chased our open-roof vehicle out in the wild in Tanzania—not near any water—because it felt threatened or surprised by us crossing its path.

Hippos are protective and can charge quickly on land when they sense danger to their space or themselves.
Our guide handled it right away, reversed safely, and turned it into an incredible, safe wildlife moment.

This is the real side of Africa you get with —close encounters, expert guiding, and respect for the animals.

Ready for your own Tanzania or Uganda safari? DM us to book and make it happen.
