A realistic view of what leaving our house looks like at the moment 🙃

Your dog isn’t testing you They’re tracking patterns If the rules change depending on your mood, your energy, or how tired you are… your dog has no idea what success looks like That’s not defiance That’s confusion Consistency isn’t about being strict It’s about being clear

he didn’t lick it

I have it in a size large and it holds 24oz which gets us through our training sessions but can see how some may have to refill. I fought this purchase for way too long because it felt unhinged. Then I started fostering puppies who treat my pockets like a buffet and suddenly my old pouch made zero sense. This didn’t make my dogs better trained. It made me cleaner, faster, and less annoyed which turns out matters a lot to me 😅 Not an ad. Nobody asked me to post this. Just yapping for free about something that actually made training easier

When the walk is still in progress 🙃 She can walk nicely on slip and still forget her body exists when she’s excited This is what training actually looks like for us atm NOT perfect, NOT failing, just reps and patience with a very big puppy who’s still learning where her feet go

This is what patience and discipline actually look like for us If he’s crying in the car we wait 🙃 If he’s overstimulated we slow it down 🙃 If he can’t check in yet we stay at that step 🙃 We sit We watch We let the nervous system settle Freedom isn’t taken it’s earned and when he shows me he can clock in with me that’s when he gets to run🥰

This is one of those moments that usually stays in my head but the camera caught it I wanted her to move faster I wanted cleaner reps I wanted that trainer dopamine And then I had to stop myself Because this dog doesn’t need hype. She needs calm, clarity, and space to think Training isn’t about what I want in the moment. It’s about what this dog needs right now #ᴛʀɪɴᴅɪɢ

Not everyone can foster Not everyone can donate Not everyone wants their heart broken But a lot of people can drive! This weekend I helped transport two puppies Ringo and Lordy from Arizona to Washington so they could get closer to their forever homes through MAD Rescue If you love dogs, like road trips, or just want to help in a way that feels doable transport is a really underrated option
