Minerals are inorganic substances that can be found in both macro- and micro-amounts in food. Calcium, phosphorus, sodium, chloride, magnesium, and potassium are the six essential macrominerals. These minerals must be obtained from diet since they cannot be produced in quantities high enough to maintain adequate physiologic function.
Calcium is a Macronutrient. It is the structural element of bones and teeth, and also serves as an ion reservoir. Cells can also respond to hormones and neurotransmitters thanks to calcium. The primary calcium source in raw diets is raw meaty bones. Dairy products and vegetables contain slightly less calcium, however these sources are not trustworthy enough to provide the necessary quantities.
