Venmo -Ark
(āš ļøA FAKE Venmo account using my name and logo is missing the second K in my last name, Perkowska, and has a 1 behind the word ARK.) I provide food, shelter and any medical care that is needed to orphaned or injured birds, ducks and chickens. I have had great success rehabilitating and releasing hurt and orphaned birds that were

brought in by good samaritans wanting to save a life. I also provide a forever home to a number of special needs birds, ducks and chickens and try to educate the public on how to care for our feathered friends. I am a one woman rescue with no help or volunteers and everything I provide for the birds at Kasia’s Ark comes out of my own pocket. I don’t have a facility or shelter and run my little rescue out of my home. Donations are always needed and very much appreciated.

I meant to post this yesterday, but I worked on this poor bird for 7 hours, and was just too exhausted to put this post together. This baby came in the night before last. I was sent two photos, and could only see one toe that had something embedded in it. I had no idea the extent of his injuries was so severe. It’s absolutely the worst wounds I’ve seen on any bird feet in 22 years of rescue. He smelled so bad, first thing I did before starting to work on him was give him a bath to get all the p**p off of him. Several toes almost severed completely, one completely gone, the bone is still exposed. Cuts all over both feet and the left leg has a compound fracture above the knee. I’m expecting more toes to fall off. I’m almost out of antibiotics, pain meds and first aid supplies.

This poor baby will be with me for quite some time, and will never be releasable, so will need a new forever home after he heals. It’s too soon to tell if he will lose any toes or the left leg. I’m doing the absolute best for him, and don’t have the funds to take him to the vet at this time.

Donations are desperately needed and necessary. The past several months I’ve gotten on average of 4-7 birds each week, and 99% of the people dropping off a bird doesn’t leave a donation. Just the round trip to LSU ends up costing me over $50 in gas alone, not to mention time I have to take off work to do the transport. Even $5 will help. Please donate if you are able.

This poor baby will be a special needs bird regardless of how he heals, so I also need more permanent housing for him other than a cat carrier.

Please donate if you are able. I can’t keep doing this without your help. We simply don’t have enough bird people here, and no new ones stepping up and willing to learn.

PLEASE SHARE!!!

I just got off the phone with a mom who’s devastated, and her son is losing his mind!

They are visiting from out of town and were leaving Pontilly Coffee at at 8:20 am at 4000 Old Gentilly Rd in New Orleans, when moving the travel cage, the handle broke and the bird flew off.

This is a 4 year old European starling, not your typical pet bird. The bird was on his way to a family member for boarding because the family is leaving town this afternoon and are headed to the airport shortly.

His name is Moose, he’s 4 years old and molting around the head area and has pin feathers. They can’t send an actual photo because the son dropped his phone and the screen broke.

PLEASE HELP ME HELP THIS FAMILY FIND THEIR BABY!!!

This bird is very human friendly and will most likely land on your head or shoulder. If so, please slowly walk inside and text me at Kasia's Ark Bird Rescue(504)723-3601. We need to get this sweet boy his emotional support bird back ASAP!!!

The second pic is one of mine, their baby looks very similar, except has white specks around the face

Here we go again. This weather is CONSTANTLY keeping me on my toes.

STORM WATCH - all indications are some tropical development will occur over the northern Gulf within the next 48 hours. A tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to form. The next name on the list is Bertha.

A lot still is yet to be determined. Remember Arthur? The storm went in to Texas but we took the brunt of the weather in Louisiana. This storm will be different in many ways which is why exact track and intensity will be key. The shear and dry air over the Gulf should keep things in check so only a weaker storm is possible.

All residents from Louisiana to the Panhandle of Florida(including vacationers) should monitor the latest developments on this system.

Precious girls.

Floor Girl Rescue. Two weeks ago we were able to rescue 32 ā€˜floor girls’. These are the caged hens that have somehow escaped and ended up battered and bruised from the fall. Mostly from a great height.

26 of the girls were put into John and Heathers ā€˜wheelchair ward’ at our Brisbane Hen Hospital. This gave them time to heal, eat well, have fresh air and medication. šŸ“šŸ“

All but 6 of these sweet sweet girls are walking and ready for adoption. šŸ“šŸ“

Our big Rescue and Adoption Days are coming soon. Starting in August through to November.
