Higgins Veterinary Clinic

09/04/2026

Earlier this week I posted on where our Show people could get their health papers for show animals. After checking around I have a list of vets that will do them. You will need to have all animals hauled to and seen by the veterinarian.

Dekalb Animal Hospital (903)667-9206
Clarksville Animal Clinic (903)427-3294
Pittsburg Vet Clinic (903)856-6518
Hopkins County Vet Clinic (903)765-8015
NOTE -Cass County Veterinary clinic is not accepting new clients.

I do not know what they charge to do this. I highly recommend you DO NOT wait until the last minute or there may be some very disappointed kids.

For our 4-H and FFA members please read. Dr. Higgins will no longer be doing health certificates. Texas has gone to the the digital health certificates. You will need to find another vet for that service this year. Thank you all for being great clients! Good Luck to All!

I just read the article in yesterday's local newspaper about the ticks that carry the alpha-gal causing allergy. They are in our area. My son has had that for for several years and it is an awful condition to have. Remember that now is the time to treat your dogs with something that will kill these ticks and we have Credelio. We have it on sale, $3 off regular price.

I am at the clinic today until 10am. Our phone is still out. I don’t know if Doc is coming in.

06/22/2026

The clinic is open. Our phone is out and was supposed to be fixed last week. As you can see, Kinetic can’t do that.

06/02/2026

We are continuing to be open on Mondays and Thursdays from 8-10. Doc doesn't come in every day so a phone call after about 8:30 may save you some time. We have the flea treatments and some medications.
