Sad day here at PacaDreams, one of our elder rescues passed away, leaving us with heavy hearts. LB was a unique girl. She is now with her baby Ruby.

Baby update….We no longer have to bottle feed, Tina is nursing regularly and baby is gaining weight. She’s very active and is into everything! Lastly we have decided a name…..Meet Ayra

We have a a lot of questions the last few days about our newest Cria. On Saturday after our monthly herd maintenance Tina, who is a maiden, started the birthing process around 1:30pm. It wasn’t an easy birth. The cria had a leg lock and her head got stuck. After 1 1/2 hours we finally delivered a small but spunky little girl. After about 30-45 mins we noticed that the baby had not urinated. With closer examination we noticed that she only had a tiny pinhole with a thin membrane coving her v***a. We loaded Tina and the baby and took them to NC State Veterinary Hospital . The baby was examined and diagnosed with a congenital v***ar deformity. Tina and baby were admitted and received the best care. The small animal surgery team was called in and on Monday and corrected the problem. Mom and baby are home and doing well. We still have a long road ahead but are very hopeful for a full recovery. To answer the last question… no we have decided a name yet! Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers!
