Adoptions:
Adoptions are processed 12-4:30 M-F. Applications may be turned in at any time, but those submitted after 4:30 will be processed the next business day. Applicati

ons are processed in the order they are received. We will only hold animals for a single business day with a completed application. Phone calls or expressed interest will not place an animal on hold. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!)
You must be a resident of Nacogdoches County and schedule an appointment to surrender animals. There is a $15 surrender fee for each animal 6 months or older, and a litter fee of $5 for animals in a single litter under the age of 6 months (per Nacogdoches Code of Ordinance 6-75). The breed's terrier, pit bull terrier (mix).

He prefers to be both shaken AND stirred. And patted. And cuddled.
Really anything that means you're touching him and/or giving him belly rubs.

He's a super sweet little guy and perfect for someone who wants a mid-sized fella who wants to cuddle and interact. Tom came in with another dog he got along well with and we have no reason to believe he wouldn't do well with other pets in the home.
Come by some afternoon and get some cuddles, this is serious business!

Athena is one of the more unique-looking dogs that we've had come through our shelter doors.
Just look at her soulful honey-colored eyes and tiny, tiny tortilla chip ears!

She's a mellow girl who occasionally gets a spurt of energy and wiggles wildly in the grass. She's very obedient and knows sit, walks gently on leash and goes to kennel easily - she likely knows more that we haven't discovered yet!
It appears that she's been "spanked" as she will duck away from your hand or raised items and tuck her little behind - she really appreciates a gentle touch!

She's happy to meet new people, excited to see dogs (friends??) and just wants to live a nice life--come by and have a visit with her sometime!

You can just look at Saxophone and tell that she's the sweetest girl.
She's got a joy for life and loves to come out and spend quality time with you - cuddling, going for walks, or just being near you are all her favorite things.

So far Saxophone has loved everyone she's met, including her doggy neighbors. She sports a slick black coat and is a perfect medium size at 36 pounds.
We think she'd be a great addition to your home! Don't you?

We've got Poppyseed (Left⬅) and Sesame (Right➡), just a few more spices and we'll have everything bagel seasoning on our hands!

These cuties are 12 weeks old and haven't been shown much of the world yet. They're shy, they shiver, and they'll need your help after adoption to learn that he world isn't quite as scary as it seems! We're already getting tail wags after only a few days - you're sure to get snuggles and loyalty for a lifetime! 🐶😍

Our favorite boy Slime is ready to be adopted!

This boy has been snuggled and cuddled since his very first day on shelter. He's become absolutely spoiled and now he's looking for only the best of the best new home. He's talkin' inside only, cozy beds, fun toys, brushing his long coat - the works!
He'd do just fine with other cats or a kitten sibling and he will certainly cuddle and love his new owner!

This golden girl is all wrapped up in a fluffy coat and ready to cuddle. She likes other dogs both big and small , cats, and children - adults too of course!

Somebody get Jeremiah some AC! ❄❄❄
This boy was outside for approximately 14 minutes today and the Texas heat was just tooooo much for him and he was quickly ready to go back inside.

Jeremiah is a happy-go-lucky boy who loves to come out for walks, zoom for short stretches, and investigate new toys. He's a handsy guy and loves to interact with the world with his paws and give hugs -if you don't like this he's easily corrected!

This smart boy is eager to please and with a bit of effort was picking up on sit and responding well to leash walking. He'll be the perfect house guest in no time!

Anyone ready to chat, Koda's all ears!

Playful and happy boy Koda is 4 1/2 months old and weighs in at 15 pounds. He's our one and only "small dog" , although he'll probably be more s'medium when he's done growing - we think around 25 pounds or so.

He's a happy , personable guy who loves to cuddle and play with toys. He likes being held and has touched noses with several of our office cats.
Koda is having a relaxing weekend and is ready to be adopted first thing next week!
