Please welcome this beautiful tabby girl to Denning Animal Rescue. Mr. Rice found her alone in Bland Lake. She doesn't have a name yet, but she's healthy and growing. She loves wet and dry kitten food, toys that jingle and make soft noises, being held, sniffing and nibbling on human fingers, and exploring every nook and cranny of the house.

Meet our new resident! She's a tiny, fluffy, tabby kitten! (She looks black in pictures, but she's really a dark tabby.) She's active and playful, with a big meow and an even bigger personality!

Personality: She prefers dry kitten food and water to wet food and cat soups. She climbs furniture and curtains with unbridled enthusiasm. All of the adult toms at the rescue are being chased by this lil floof, who can't make a sharp turn without bouncing off a wall, sliding on her furry little feet. All of her favorite toys have feathers attached. No foot is safe from a massive pounce. Human hands are chewed on incessantly, when she's picked up while playing.

Our family foster-failed, with Bella, last summer. Bella is a sweet girl, who loves swimming, playing fetch, chasing sticks, and making Eedan Brown take her for walks (even on icy, winter days).

Outside, on the porch, at JeJe's house, Bella has a heated doghouse. She really enjoys spending some nights on that screened-in porch! Bella sleeps inside, in Eedan's room, during cold snaps, like this one or whenever the mood strikes her.

We are working on teaching her to stay in the fenced yard Eedan built for her, but she's an escape artist at heart, especially when our neighbors' dogs come over and play with her through the fence!

Update: Ella is snuggling with Bella, on this wintery East Texas day, so I added a few pictures.

Denning Animal Rescue is honored to receive a monthly donation in memory of Kenadee Williams. Kenadee was an amazing child, who loved animals deeply. Kenadee and her dad were in a tragic car accident in 2018 and are gone from this world far too soon. They are deeply missed, by our community.

It was almost standing room only when Chireno residents gathered in the CISD gym Thursday to say goodbye to Thomas and Kenadee Williams, who were killed in a wreck on the morning of May 7.

Denning Animal Rescue received a lovely donation in memory of Officer Charles Goodwin, over the Christmas holidays.

We deeply appreciate the donation. It will help us rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats in San Augustine County.

Officer Goodwin is deeply missed in our local community. He was a truly good person, who dedicated his life to serving others.

Celebrate the life of Deputy Charles Goodwin and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.

Denning Animal Rescue is setting up at Nacogdoches Tractor Supply tomorrow, Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Three cats, Spots, Stripes, and Ladybug, will be available for adoption! These three tabbies are wonderful, indoor cats, who are spayed or neutered and vaccinated.

If you adopt a cat, Tractor Supply will sell you one bag of cat food and one bag of kitty litter at 50-percent off! Thank you, Tractor Supply!
