🐾💛 Last Walk with Maggie 💛🐾

First, we want to apologize to our clients for the delay in sharing this sweet girl! With our recent relocation, things have been a little hectic behind the scenes. Thank you all so much for your patience, understanding, and continued support during this transition. 💛

We recently had our final dog walking booking with Maggie, and this goodbye is an especially difficult one for us.

Maggie is a sweet 4-year-old rescued Lab/Hound mix with one of the most loving personalities. She greets everyone she meets with the biggest smile and happiest tail wags, and she never turns down an opportunity for more belly rubs! 🥹🐶 She loves treats, playing in the yard with her favorite toys, and taking long walks in the sunshine. ☀️🐾

Maggie and her mom hold an incredibly special place in our hearts because they were Safe Haven's very first clients. For the past four years, we've had the privilege of watching Maggie grow, caring for her, and building a relationship with a family who believed in and supported Safe Haven from the very beginning.

From our first booking to our last walk together, it has been an absolute honor to be trusted with this sweet girl. Saying goodbye to Maggie and her mom—and to all of the pets and families who have become part of the Safe Haven family over the years—is more difficult than we can put into words.

Thank you, Maggie's mom, for taking a chance on us four years ago and for your continued trust, kindness, and support ever since. You helped give Safe Haven its beginning, and we'll never forget that. 💛

We are going to miss that smiling face, those happy tail wags, and our sunny walks together more than you know. This may be the end of Safe Haven's chapter, but the memories and relationships we've made along the way will stay with us forever. 🐾🌈

🐾🏡 House Sitting with Stella, Benny & Soots! 🏡🐾

First, we want to apologize to our clients for the delay in sharing this sweet crew! With our recent relocation, things have been a little hectic behind the scenes. Thank you all so much for your patience, understanding, and continued support during this transition. 💛

We had the pleasure of house sitting for Stella, Benny, and Soots—three adorable siblings with three very different personalities!

🐶 Stella is a sweet 5-year-old rescued Pit Bull mix who wants nothing more than to be wherever her people are. Her favorite things include snuggling up with whoever is home, enjoying plenty of treats, and getting all the belly scratches she can convince you to give her!

🐱 Benny is a handsome 2-year-old deaf kitty who loves sitting by the window and keeping a close eye on everything happening outside. When he's not busy being the neighborhood watch, you can find him eagerly begging for mealtime or snuggling up to you. And don't let his deafness fool you—Benny is a very talkative boy who always has plenty to say, especially when food is involved! 😹💕

🐈‍⬛ Soots is a precious 7-year-old kitty who knows how to enjoy the good life! He loves sunbathing on the screened-in porch, getting back scratches, and spending time playing with his big canine sister, Stella. ☀️

A huge thank you to Kelsey and Jordan for trusting Safe Haven Pet Sitting & Care with your babies. It was such a pleasure caring for them and keeping them comfortable in their own home while you were away.

And most importantly, congratulations to the newlyweds! 💍🤍

🐾☀️ August Pets of the Month Featuring: Cali & Sandy! ☀️🐾

This month, we're so excited to celebrate two very special members of the Safe Haven family—Cali & Sandy! 💛

For the past three years, it has been our absolute pleasure to care for these sweet sisters whenever their family is away.

🌼 Cali is a beautiful 7-year-old Golden Retriever who loves emptying every toy out of her toy box until she finds the perfect one to play with, going on long walks, and, of course, enjoying plenty of treats.

☀️ Sandy is an adorable 11-year-old Poodle/Terrier mix who enjoys soaking up the sunshine, curling up on the couch for cozy snuggles, and spending time playing alongside her sister.

Watching these two over the years has been such a privilege, and we are so grateful for the love and trust their parents have placed in Safe Haven. Clients like you have made the past four years incredibly meaningful, and we'll always cherish the memories we've made with the most adorable girls.

🐾💛 House sitting with Beyli & Titus 💛🐾

Titus is a handsome 9-month-old Mastiff with a heart as big as he is and a goofy personality. His favorite activities include: chasing his giant inflatable soccer ball, chewing on bully sticks, and emptying every single toy from his toy box so he can decide which one to play with next ⚽🦴🧸

His big sister, Beyli, is a sweet 4-year-old Chihuahua/Poodle mix with a spunky personality. She loves searching for lizards in the backyard, earning tasty treats, curling up in her favorite spot on the couch for snuggles, and making sure her little-big-brother knows she's the boss 🦎🛋️💕

It has been so much fun cuddling, playing, and loving on these two cuties while their family is away. Keeping pets comfortable in their own home while maintaining their routines is one of our favorite parts of what we do 💛🐶

To all our friends and family here,

Every year, millions of animals enter shelters and sanctuaries across the country, each carrying a unique story of hardship, resilience, and hope for a better future. In 2023, I rescued my pit bull mix, Nelson, from the local animal shelter where I volunteer. He had been brought in by animal control after being found wandering alone in a field—sunburned, infested with intestinal parasites, and severely underweight. Scars marked his head, evidence of prolonged abuse, and thick calluses on his elbows told the story of years spent lying on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Despite all he had endured, he was the most timid and withdrawn dog I had ever encountered. The moment he let his guard down and started trusting me, I realized I didn’t just want to help animals—I wanted to fight for them.

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share some devastating news about my best friend, Nelson.

Last week, we were told that Nelson has a tumor that is most likely a form of dermatological cancer. Hearing those words completely shattered our hearts. If you know me, then you know Nelson isn’t “just a dog.” He is my best friend, my family, my constant companion, and one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me.

The next step is surgery to remove the tumor and have it sent off for testing so we can get an accurate diagnosis and determine the best course of treatment. The surgery and associated costs are estimated to be around $3,000.

Right now, we are asking for your prayers above all else. Please pray that the surgery is successful, that the tumor can be completely removed, that the pathology results bring hopeful news, and that Nelson makes a smooth and speedy recovery. Please also keep our family in your prayers as we navigate this heartbreaking and uncertain time.

If you feel led to help ease the financial burden of his surgery and recovery, any donation—no matter how small—would mean more to us than words can express. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers will never be forgotten.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Safe Haven Pet Sitting & Care will officially be closing on August 8, 2026, as we begin the next chapter of our journey.

Over the past four years, it has been the greatest honor and privilege to care for your beloved pets. From puppies and kittens to senior companions, horses, reptiles, farm animals, and everything in between, each and every one of your pets has left a lasting mark on our hearts. Thank you for trusting us with your family members and welcoming us into your homes. Your kindness, hospitality, and support have meant more than words can express, and we have never taken that trust for granted.

As many of you know, my lifelong dream has always been to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. As I move back to my hometown, I have been given an incredible opportunity to continue pursuing that dream by working as a veterinary assistant at an equine sanctuary, where I will help rehabilitate and care for horses, donkeys, mules, and hinnies that have been rescued from neglect and abuse. While it is difficult to say goodbye, I know this next step is exactly where God is leading me.

Meet Oakley, an adorable 6-month-old puppy who became the sweetest "foster fail" and found his fur-ever home with the most loving mom. 🥹💛

It has been such a pleasure helping Oakley through his puppy years by providing dog walking, companionship, and positive reinforcement while his mom works long hours. Watching him grow in confidence and continue learning has been incredibly rewarding.

Tanner is an almost 2-year-old English Springer Spaniel who is as handsome as he is sweet! He loves spending time with his family, going on long walks, and visiting his littermates whenever he gets the chance. 🐶🌿

We've had the pleasure of taking Tanner on long walks while his mom recovers from surgery. Wishing her a smooth and speedy recovery!
