This is my favorite scentwork find so far. It was literally the perfect place to work some upper level exteriors! Zoey got some epic exterior and master level practice in and nailed her searches! I love finding new spots to take our seekers scentwork team to give them as many opportunities as possible to prepare them for trials! Taking them out on new adventures helps set them up for success for trials. Novelty areas, more distractions, things they can’t always just anticipate. Once upon a time I got really complacent. We were at our training facility all the time for everything. And certain trainings just need a more bold approach. So I do my best to find fun, yet safe places to take our team! This was a gem! One day I’ll get better at taking cute photos at trials…. 🥴🤣
Let me tell you my baby dogs came to WORK this weekend! Holy guacamole I honestly could not be more proud.
We entered 6 total runs. Qualified in all 6. Got a 3rd place and and a 4th place ribbon. And brought home THREE new titles!
Belle (10 years old) achieved her Excellent Interior Title.
Mango (3 years old) Achieved her Novice Exterior Title AND her Advanced Interior Title.

I currently can’t feel my feet and need about a 5-7 business day nap but I’m beyond proud of these two! Watching them work this weekend just brought me so much joy! They truly do love scentwork and they just come alive during searches lately!

I definitely had an easier day than some members of our team. But trials are early mornings, and long weekends. And I’m learning how to manage that with a chronic illness. I entered what I thought my body could handle, and in turn was able to show up as the handler they deserve and not burning myself out. So while we may be crossing off titles a little slower comparatively it’s a pace that’s got us back in the game after I had to take a while off. I’ve watched our seekers team fly and I’m so happy to be back competing side by side with them again. Although now they’re really starting to give me a run for my money! 🤣🤣

Every dog be it our personal or our clients teach us something new! The way I did things ten years ago is so different from how I do things now! And that genuinely is why continuing education in industries is VITAL! We are all constantly growing and learning and getting to give all that knowledge back in a way that supports our clients is a big deal for us!

Socialization is about creating a confident dog that fits into your lifestyle. And we are all different. Some people may want camping dogs, or trial dogs, some may want to go into therapy work! Having a socialization foundation is less about exposing dogs to everything and more about creating the resiliency and capacity into their nervous system that even when new things they’ve never seen before come up they feel confident and safe to handle that!

No but because really her tiny legs are MOVING! 🤣 and we are so so proud of her determination as a tiny dog conquering agility.

There’s really no intention for her to compete or even take it seriously! She comes for some exercise and to have fun, and make the rest of us laugh!

This is your reminder that all sizes, and levels are welcome in our agility class! No experience required! It’s so helpful to be crate trained, but we can work on that in class. But really all are welcome to come try out this super fun class!

Classes operate on a punch pass system so you don’t have to commit to a consecutive week class! Each dog we work at their pace and their skill level! We would love to have you join us!
