The first photo was Wyatt for one of my first visits. The second was his final groom.
Age changes our dogs in ways that can be hard to see, but one thing never changed about this sweet boy…his gentle soul. I supported him in a grooming hammock, gave him frequent rest breaks, and focused on comfort over cosmetics.
During that last groom, I cried. Not because he was difficult. Quite the opposite. He was patient, gentle, and trusted me completely, even when his little body was tired.
End-of-life grooming is one of the most emotional parts of this job. It’s not about making them look perfect; it’s about helping them feel their best, stay comfortable, and preserve their dignity during their final chapter.
He was the sweetest old man. It was truly an honor to care for him, and I’m blessed I got to say goodbye.❤️🐾
