Thank you so much for following Pawz N Whiskerz, while this page was originally for my gold award- I have now decided to start offering my dog walking services to you all!
My donation drive will be brought back this Christmas, if you know of anyone who owns a business who wants to participate- send them my way!

I have had dogs my entire life, and have been around equines, cats, chickens and everything in between for around 8 years. I currently run my own plant business out of my house, have my own garden, and run my own plant business out of my house! At the moment I’m currently training my puppy for obedience, rally, agility, and fast cat.

Right now my availability is limited a bit, but I do a lot of last minute walks! If I am completely unavailable, my mom may do a walk for me.

🫀What is heartworm disease and why is prevention important?🐶🐾

-It is a very dangerous and potentially deadly disease found in dogs.

-It is caused by foot long worms that live in the dogs body. It can affect their heart, lungs, and damage to other organs

-How can you diagnose heartworm? The symptoms can Include a mild persistent cough, reluctance to exercise, fatigue after moderate activity, decreased appetite, and weight loss. As heartworm disease progresses, pets may develop heart failure and the appearance of a swollen belly due to excess fluid in the abdomen.

-Howcan you prevent it? Contact your veterinarian to get on a heartworm preventative! Remember: the preventative is cheaper than treating heartworm! There are low cost vets in the area if you are in need of assistance.

Let’s talk about Lick mats!

Lick mats are a fantastic enrichment activity that requires minimal effort. It is good for mental enrichment, slowing down fast eaters, and to give you ten minutes of peace with a crazy puppy (I know the pain).

Recommended foods to use on lick mats are:
-Natural Peanut Butter
-pumpkin puree
-sweet potato puree
-carrot puree
-banana (mashed)

Working on bowing, sitting, and laying down! All of these skills are extremely important. One thing that Ivy struggles with is going from lay down to sit (she always tries to jump)! Training your pup is great mental stimulation, as well as fun!🐾
